That's the evolution in Palworld
You either have to catch better ones, or breed for better ones or find eggs out exploring for it.
Once you find one with traits you like, or breed one, you can also combine Pals to power them up to 4 times. It works like a lot of gacha games in that aspect, how you combine commons together to get an uncommon, then uncommons to get a rare, etc.
And yeah, I miss evolutions too, it was great to see your peewee starter grow into a real endgame-capable monster.
I think that even if the devs don't implement evolutions, one of the most obvious total conversion mods would be to vastly expand the existing roster with sensible evolutions for many of the pals. I'd kill to see it happen.
