Why is the E button F?
Everyone knows E button is E not F


And they won't let me change F to E are you kidding me?

I'm getting used to it.

What I do more than anything is waste a sphere when I hit Q instead of E... it'd be nice if there was like a short window to pick those back up when they don't hit anything.

Also, I wouldn't mind something like a shift+scroll to move through the Pals in my loadout instead of 1 & 3, as that's another time I hit Q on accident.

Get a keyboard remapping software. I use SharpKeys (only downside is having to relog into Windows every time I change something). Remap the two keys vice versa. Done.

If E=E and E!=F, then transitively you cannot change F to E because F!=E.

i was a little annoyed also but i have a gaming mouse with programmable buttons so it worked out fine in the end.

Sure, there are alot of games that has E as the interact button. But there ALSO alot of games which has F as the interact buttons. Mostly because E is used for something else.

Also Its called the "interact button" not "THE E BUTTON".

What part of "Early Access" escapes people like you? Let them get bugs worked out first. QoL features can wait. It ain't gonna kill you to use the keyboard layout as is, son.

This is the problem with thumping "early access" against legit complaints. We arent talking about content, or a bug, we are talking about basic input mapping. Thats not an EA thing, its a flat out dev screwup that needs to be called out and corrected. Or did you miss the part of early access that involves testing and player feedback?

Input mapping is trivial, its built into almost every game engine. Unreal can map to just about any input. They had to go through extra steps to block mapping to mouse buttons or certain keys. I fail to see what they could possibly gain from that, or from making F do everything. I cant even dismount if there is anything interactable in the area, like picking up a stone or branch. They need to give us full mapping, and split the functions across more inputs.

I'm just mad that I have a thumb button on my mouse and it tells me that it is "not acceptable"
