Foundation trouble on a cliffside building
I made a base in a place with lots of ore near one of the pillar things.
I built a base and a lot of it is unusable so i planed to build more space, however i have spent a good few hours trying to make it work but i keep running into the problem of support and foundation attachment (the 'not enough support' if you build to far from foundations.). If i try to build from the bottem of the cliff to the top the walls nor roof doesn't connect to the foundation on the top level of the cliff. Trying to build the foundation top first and then connect to bottem doesn't work either cause still no mater what i tried i can't get anything, roof, walls, stairs, etc to connect to a lower level foundation. Is there any way to fix this or am i just doomed to have a limited building? It'd be nice if there was support beams in the game to work around this but as far as i know there isn't. heck. I love this game to bits but this little thing, along other small things has been driving me nuts.

What happens if you put the palbox on the top of the roof and expand the roof to extend past the palbox border?

edit: just tried this, didn't realize the roof build limit was 2 past a wall. rip

I believe while the whole the support only reaches 2 blocks horizontally, it applies infinitely vertically, even to structures that aren't connected.
Saw this today which really does a good job of showing how you can work with this.

I reckon you could just drop yourself of the edge down to the ground below and build some foundations there, and you should be able to extend your elevated structures as far as you want.

Hope it helps. I'm currently starting a new base in a similar place and now planning to use the this.
