Ore mining bases
Saw a few videos on how to make an optimal Ore mining base but why go through the effort of doing that if the Pals don't mine ore while your off doing anything els?

I have 2 Pal boxes in two node clusters.
I got into a habit of just putting 5 digtoise in my party then cycling through them as their special spin move depletes. way faster then any thing els

is it just me doing this? has anyone els figured this out?

Just to be sure, you need more than just mining Pals. you also need Pals that focus on transporting, otherwise the mined ore will just vanish after some time.

Also idealy a mining base has no other jobs avaible for pals besides some berry fields (even they are not needed, but then you have to constantly supply food yourself)

If you want great miners astegon are lvl 4 miners and dark pals, so they don't sleep

I use Blazamuts and Anubis. I don't think OP has access to either of those. Tombats are easy to get very, very early on. (Before Digtoise even) Astegon has the problem of being huge, bulky and getting stick on every single pebble that's left behind. I find that Anubis and Blazamut get stuck very rarely.

Tombats also have the benefit of not sleeping and being transporters, perfect for early game mining bases.

Yeah astegon is large boy lol altough at my mining base there is only ore and Coal, I placed little chairs to stop tree spawns, no foundations or anything. But I only suggest them if you want constant mining as they are dark, anubis if you have any pathing issues 100% better if late game.

My early game was Dumud, and then tomcats.

This is true I recommend either of the wyvrns as solid choices lvl 3 hauler and dark so no sleep :p

Because they do mine ore when you're gone. It's just a bit glitchy because it's in Early Access. And while they're doing that you can go to one of the dozen ore clusters that are within a stones throw from a teleport location to also be gathering ore.

they don't, when you get out of render range they seize up and stop working. I noted the amount of ore in my box and logged out for the night and came back to same exact ore amount. As far as i can tell they simply don't do anything if you are not present.

To answer the OP's question so you can afk for a few minutes and have all the nodes busted so you can quickly collect the ore and store it. Because you can only carry like one armful of ore at a time... having a large amount in a single area is ideal since you need 100's of 1000's of ore later game.

You logged out. There is your problem. All pals stop working if you log out.

Tombats not working either -_-

Even on servers, if no one is rendering them they stop pathing.

what is your pc ram size may i ask? perhaps if you have low ram size, the game just doesn't keep these bases running altho i could be wrong.

edit: i've retested a game where i don't even render the base at all, i.e. i didn't even fast travel nor travel to it after i start the game, just afking in the base at the starting location.

even without causing the base to render, it was able to finish the batch of 20ingots that i previously cleared and queued up specifically for this test.

i set up the test by clearing the ingots and starting the new ingots batch at the anubis coal mines, i returned to my starter base location and exited the save and then exited the game entirely.

i would then restart the game and afk at my starter base for about >10minutes and then came back to check, viola the ingots got finished.

Sorry to disappoint you but your test was completely useless: no one has talked about anything else but ore mining.

Everything else works fine probably because they've been programmed to work passively if you have a valid pokemon and building.

Oh and btw I have 32gb of RAM.. ~20gb free most of the time.

sure i can retest it for mining but it's probably the very same logic as well, i'll get back to you asap

it will not work if you dont feed pals and dont build bed and fountain to restore

All of those exist and there's valid pathing between all of them.

i dont need an ore base, i got 4 gobfin with mining forearm and with their passive skill, i can clear ores in seconds,
WereChicken Feb 1, 2024 @ 1:19pm
I've noticed it tends to be a bit hit and miss with the mining while away.

Having PALs whose only usable skill is mining in that base tends to significantly increase productivity due to them not getting distracted.

Just make sure you keep the food pile stocked.

I just put 4 anubises in my main base, which has iron and coal. I never have to farm it ever and they also do manufacturing. So it works rather well.
Squishy Feb 1, 2024 @ 1:25pm
I don't know what you're doing wrong, but, my mining base has been giving me stacks of ore and coal a day. It's not even optimal in the least bit.

update: yup literally same thing. emptied the ores in the only box in the anubis coal base, went back to my starter base and exit game entirely, came back at just 20minutes, viola 40 ores in the chest.

i emptied the box and picked up every ore that was left from the ore node (it was already mined) as the setup, literally just sat in base for 20 minutes after i restarted my game.
