Building over water
I have to say, I am loving the game but I am disappointed that you cannot build foundations over water in the game. I found a great spot to build a base where there is a small pool and a waterfall (and I can't get raided), but the game refused to allow foundations over water. I can see the ground underneath the pool and its not deep. I should be allowed to place a foundation in shallow water. Devs, if you are listening, this would really expand the base possibilities and give more freedom to the players. Just make it so that you have to have it connected to the shore so that the building would be valid.

They have a button for accessing their feedback form right on the Settings menu (the Report Bugs & Issues button.) You should be shouting out to them on there instead of hoping they see a single forum post on Steam, especially when there's new posts going up every few minutes.

I was thinking it'd be cool to have a riverside base with a faux pier to park my flying and swimming Pals, but it is indeed a shame you can't seem able to do that. Hopefully we can request either buildable piers or fix the building to let us place foundation over water instead.

What I've done is I built foundation next to the water edge, built a wall facing the water, built stairs, then built roof from that foundation. It gets you 2 or 3 extra blocks of room.

I need to try that now

This is the only mod I've found that do what you want. I claim no responsebility if it breaks your game so make back-ups if you try the mod. It was last updated today, 05 February 2024, last time I checked: https://www.nexusmods.com/palworld/mods/186/
Did not find this mod on CurseForge.

i did something similar to the wall/stair trick, but what I did was place a foundation as close to the water as I could on the edge of the body of water (I feel like we are all building by the lake in the beginning), then placed a wall and built roofs over the area I needed for new tech. Your roof can only extend out by 3 ish tiles before there is not enough support, but I got a good amount of space out of it! I'm not sure how to post screenshots but I can send them to anyone who likes.

Off one foundation and two walls attached to that I got a 3 by 3 L shape with almost a complete square off that.

Lol I know this exact spot, it’s one of the spots that also has Iron all over right?

Gorgeous view, and yep, raid proof, with waterfalls, and a big flat area.

Ruined by the no water rule, (almost)

This was when I went n grabbed the less building restrictions mod. I still couldn’t build on water but I could float the base out.

That’s my fav spot so far, and by far

The mod actually worked out because now I still get a great view of the lake and top of the waterfall, so 👍

The above link someone posted is less a mod, and almost all cheat engine, aka a real pain in the ass to use imo anyway, but if u want it bad enough, lol. LBR mod was good enough for me instead of fussing with cheat engine

This looks good, are you using it on a server?

It's possible to build in the water with a glitch, no mods necessary. it involves using a ridable ground mount and by jumping in the water with it, dismount as your model is below the water. You could start building in any deep enough water.

If you go into the esc menu, go to option, click report bugs, that form gives you the option to give feedback as well as report bugs so if you want something send it there, it goes right to the devs.

If the water isn't too deep you can extend pillars from any floor tile.

I remember they patched it out once, but I built a base literally next to Azurobe at the start of Feybreak so maybe it works everywhere now
