is the single shot rifle worth it?

at first i thought it was going to be a semi auto weapon because it uses the same image as the assault rifle in the tech screen (which actually uses the wrong image), but after seeing it's real image, i was unsure of making it since i don't want to waste resources after that one weapon that only has one shot before having to reload for a long time.

It's a bolt action, single loaded rifle. It reloads faster then the crossbow and has 100 more attack then the musket. It's very worth it.

I don't own the game, but I suppose that more damage, but less ammo used guns are (very likely) the best ones in a survival game.

As it does more damage, It's good when you have a pal fighting a boss for example, so you can quickly drop their life shooting crit spots, then retreat your pal and just handgun them to refine to the minimal life to capture. It's bad to use on low level pals, as it one-shot-kill them, or ones that move too quickly because of the aim.

you shouldn't craft ammo for the rifle and beyond weapons becuz shops sell em for credits, just buy em. i think the shop in duneshelter sells em not sure if else where has em. you can google where it is cuz i don't want to spoil the exploration for you lol.

Easier to use than the flintlock rifle and hits harder. Since the flintlock is really annoying to reload during some of the boss fights etc.

Worth it in my opinion. It's ammo efficient because each bullet hits so hard. I carry it and the handgun at the moment, rifle does the big hits, pistol is for chipping down the last bit ready for capture.

200 more attack then a regular crossbow or a regular musket? A crossbow is 250 attack, and a musket is 1000 attack. A single shot rifle is 1100 attack, and fires faster then a crossbow.

you can make multiple of them and chain fire them. nothing limiting you to 1 of each weapon type

It's actually a lever action rifle, which is faster than bolt action rifles in real life in a sense as you can move the lever as quickly as you can shoot, but the rate of fire isn't replicated in this game as fast as you want.

For instance the handgun is basically a desert eagle I guess, or a oversized pistol of sorts, so the firing rate seems a bit awkwardly slow.

Farm money by selling cooked berries in the thousands easily, buy handgun ammo from a merchant in farming village south west of map, for 120 gold per bullet.
Assault rifle ammo is 150 gold per bullet, and rifle ammo is around 170~200 I think...

Basically ammo is easily attained early on if you have the knowledge of what to do.

You can buy mega spheres from a wandering merchant in the same village on the other section, for 930 gold each.

If you can access late game merchants found in later parts of the map then surely you can get better stuff.
