"Oh no it's a pokemon ripoff"
It's almost like pokemon designs are intentionally simple and using commonplace, stereotypical animation rules like "If it has to do with fire, it's red, if it has to do with earth, it's brown", or "Take Animal, add element of choice, color-theme appropriately, add element symbol somewhere, done."

So either you'd have to avoid using ANY primary colors, ANY form of animal, any form of element, I mean facks sakes guys, with the logic the pokemon fanbase is throwing around ARK IS A SCAM BECAUSE A T REX IS JUST TRYANTUM. REALITY IS A SCAM OF POKEMON BECAUSE RATS ARE REAL AND THEY'RE JUST A STOLEN IDEA FROM RATTATA. :meltychan:

It's like none of them could wrangle two brain cells to rub together. They can't grasp that Gamefreak is literally just taking primary colors and slathering them all over common household objects, real world animals, and common mythological creatures. That pokemon literally steals from stereotypes every time they make something "new"?

What is Litwick? It's a white candle with a purple flame.

But the Pokefans see it as "It's a blue penguin, it's a piplup."

Because NOBODY can make a blue penguin without it being a Piplup, right?

Nobody can have a smiley face on a set of keys without it being Keflakey?

There's enough differences in the styles that there's no way you could mistake one for the other, especially if you're looking at them side by side, with MAYBE the exception of Direhowl and Lycanrock....which is literally just a dog.

The people calling this a "pokemon ripoff scam" are the same people who called Digimon a pokemon ripoff. Those same people don't even know that by their logic, they shouldn't be crying to Nintendo, they should be crying to Atlus and the Shin Megami Tensei series.

I just had to get this off my chest. Like damn, man.:csce_terriermon:

If you dislike the game, that's fine. I can get that. But at least have some kind of REASON instead of made up armchair legal reasons.

I get disliking the game and they have every right to, but it's obvious they're pulling from Nintendo's designs lmao.
Quite a few of the pals have close resemblances or are made up of different closely related designs from Nintendo, and it's not just slight similarity, It's as if it was referenced, and just about the only grounds nintendo can stand on if they ever try anything.

Well, yes. Simplicity and ease of recognition sell.

No no, palworld is 100% ripping off pokemon and botw and it should be too obvious to point out.

People hate success when their favorite franchise is locked behind decades old hardware and a game developer stuck in the 90's.

I love it, the fact that this game has more to offer than Nintendo could ever do is the icing on the cake. Pokemon took ideas from another game but you dont see them cry over it lol.
Nintendo is a selfish and greedy that wants no competition. Now for the "woke" (WE-TAR-DID) jokers think its wrong to make this game cause "animal cruelty".... Wake the F Up, we do that now to raise and slaughter animals, to put food in stores, restaurants, and on the table. Someone HAS to do it, so shut the F up libtarded mentally stupid morons.

I can see the games they took from, yes.

Just like I can see the games pokemon took from.

Pokemon literally stole 99% of what they did from other people. Defending pokemon just shows you don't understand how art works. Either that or you're just an out and out hypocrite.

EVERYTHING is "stolen" through the lens you're looking through. ESPECIALLY if you use commonplace creatures or mechanics. Breath of the wild was an open world game. It didn't invent anything it used. Other games before it had gliders and stamina systems, other games had open worlds, other games had collectables and maps. If they had outright taken Nightmare gannon, changed his pallete to be white and blue themed, and just called him "Bad Dream PIggod" then yeah I'd be calling this a ripoff.

Palworld took a lot of ideas from a lot of places, a lot of mistreated places, and spiced them up. If anything, Palworld is a loveletter to true pokemon fans, not the fanboys who are just around to white knight and pretend to be a part of something.
