Only issue I have encountered in my friends dedicated server he runs from his PC is I experience loads of rubber banding. Other than that it works great, any one know how to fix the rubber banding? He doesn't experience it, just me.

Thanks Dikkat for doing this. Any chance you're hosting a server also? Curious to see if you are having lagging and rubber banding issues. I am hosting a server on Linux and I am suspecting Pal base and player traffic to cause lag. As we progressed in the game, it went from no lag, to 2s delay on any actions. Server seems like it only uses 2 cores at a time. It has high usage, but it does not constantly do 100% usage on them. RAM is increasing due to leak. I have a restart script running on cron for 85%+ usage.

When I restart the server, it does not lag for a bit. But as others join and trigger their pal bases (we have about 5+ bases on the server) , and do other stuff, it starts lagging within minutes of the restart. Has anyone experienced any servers with no lag and high traffic?

Ok. I am not an internet dummy. I was an admin and systems analyst for 20+years. First, the answer to question I posed is not nope. The guide specifically tells you to make another secure steam account to make a dedicated server. Second, not only do you have to have another account, you are required to purchase a second copy on that account. Using steamcmd is useless since it returns app dump everytime, even when running as admin.

Actually the answer is 'nope.' You don't need a second account. SteamCMD *might* request login credentials, in which case you just use your steam account. It only uses it to download the game, and it usually permits you to login as 'anonymous' after the first time. You don't need a steam account (nor steamcmd) to have the server running.

Also idk what app dump error you're getting. Maybe google it?
I am going to assume you are blind. Boot another computer up and try to load the game. It will tell you only one login can occur by this account and shut down your play session and steam access. Aside from that is the steamcmd documentation suggests creating a second secure account independant from your games account for security reasons.

Note from someone using dedicated server from PingPerfect, since Early Access release. There does seem to be a fairly serious memory leak issue, which has caused PP to restart our server a few times due to going way beyond the allotted resources. PP's default settings is 7Gb for an 8-slot server, SSD storage, and above average CPU. I've had warning memory usage and even CPU usage. I've moved to restarting the server every four hours to trying to refresh things and it helps to a point. There is only five of us playing on the server, ranging from late 20s to just around 40 levels with two bases (big base and mining one). I have raids disabled due to how imbalanced they seem and looking at disabling bEnableNonLoginPenalty as well to see if it helps.

I am curious how dedicated server players are faring after the first full week, if folks are seeing memory and even CPU usage issues on other providers.

Game's a mess optimization wise even for people hosting on actual dedicated servers with their own RAM, CPU and NVME.
I'm running on a dedicated VPS (paying a nifty sum for that for 32GB, 500GB NVME and 8 Cores with a dedicated 300mbps optics connection) and I had to fiddle with a few engine settings in order to get rubber banding to a manageable level and that's just with 5 people online.

I can't even imagine how it would be on a non-dedicated server on one of those game hosting sites.. I wouldn't even recommend them until Palworld Devs do a hefty few rounds of optimization.

I know of another VPS I play on with 24 players (about 15-16 active in peak) and the lag is unbearable on those even with 6hr restarts and similar setup (though I don't think they've done the optimizations Ive done).

what i tested
in Palworldsettings.ini : PublicIP=X.X.X.X or local IP or internet IP no changes
in initiation parameters : -publicip=X.X.X.X or local/net IP / -publicport=xxxx or 8211 / EpicApp=PalServer no change at all
already use the firewall line commands
already did port 8211 fowarding, my internet support did so i think is right

My friend made a dedicated server and it worked but then we got off and came back and now only the host can join and everyone else is getting the time out error. Not sure if there's any fix? We tried changing ports and a few other things and nothings been working

Is it possible to recover data lost from a dedicated server that seems to have reached day 32? All players were prompted to make new characters, but our maps were kept intact.

You do realize SteamCMD is recommending you create a separate system account for security right? And only a second Steam account if the game requires it. Just use the anonymous login to run the server.

Yes i added rules for firewall for ingoing and outgoing but i'm not sure if i did it correctly.

What is your OS version? And please share the rules with me.

Also here the firewall rules code:

New-NetFirewallRule -DisplayName "Palworld Server" -Direction Inbound -LocalPort 8211 -Protocol TCP -Action Allow
New-NetFirewallRule -DisplayName "Palworld Server" -Direction Inbound -LocalPort 8211 -Protocol UDP -Action Allow
New-NetFirewallRule -DisplayName "Palworld Server" -Direction Outbound -LocalPort 8211 -Protocol TCP -Action Allow
New-NetFirewallRule -DisplayName "Palworld Server" -Direction Outbound -LocalPort 8211 -Protocol UDP -Action Allow
I am having a similar issue where no one can join my server. I have tried setting up rules as well. I also setup port forwarding but they cannot connect. These rules go into cmd, correct?

On their end, it just says connection timed out.

Just login anonymous on steamcmd bro, palworld server allows anonymous

My admin is stating that when local.save files are hitting 60mb for a server, they are crashing. Any thoughts here? Two out of 3 servers are down due to this. Do we know if this is a limitation?

Have you figured out this problem yet? Or figured out what caused it? We had the exact same thing happen.

Yes, there is a bug that happens around that size that will crash the server shortly after startup. The crash files will have an errror "FMemoryWriter does not support data larger than 2GB" or "Trying to resize TArray to an invalid size of 2147523050" (error before the last patch)

We have a save that crashes after 10-15 minutes. As a test, I moved the save over to a Linux server and everything seemed to be fine, but eventually even that crashed with the same type of error. I am not sure why it took longer on Linux, but the crash log in Linux suggest it is crashing on save.
