Any help would be highly appreciated!
Are all the - correct?
Ofcourse I censored all personal information with "x" :)
cd /d "%~dp0"
start PalServer.exe -ServerName="x" -ServerPassword="x" -port=8211 -RCONEnabled=True -RCONPort=25575 -AdminPassword="x" -players=32 -log -nosteam -PublicIP="x" useperfthreads -NoAsyncLoadingThread -UseMultithreadForDS EpicApp=Palserver
What does -nosteam do btw?
I only copy and change the GameUserSettings.ini to match my saved world "name", copy the players "list", Level.sav and LevelMeta.sav.
Or in tldr, you can watch this vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSTI8QGikIk
Anything else I missed?
For anyone that comes across this in the future the issue was having the server running while I made the configuration changes. When I went to restart the server it would overwrite my file with a blank version.
Stopping the server, THEN making the changes followed by a restart made them stick.
Did you copy and paste the Pal/saved folder ?
Did you open the steam query port in your firewall? 27015 is for the server list port.
Ok. I am not an internet dummy. I was an admin and systems analyst for 20+years. First, the answer to question I posed is not nope. The guide specifically tells you to make another secure steam account to make a dedicated server. Second, not only do you have to have another account, you are required to purchase a second copy on that account. Using steamcmd is useless since it returns app dump everytime, even when running as admin.
Actually the answer is 'nope.' You don't need a second account. SteamCMD *might* request login credentials, in which case you just use your steam account. It only uses it to download the game, and it usually permits you to login as 'anonymous' after the first time. You don't need a steam account (nor steamcmd) to have the server running.
Also idk what app dump error you're getting. Maybe google it?
You would want to increase.
1 means its 1x the speed, so 2 would make it 2x the speed etc.
Youd want to use your public IP. you can google "Whatismyip" and itll give you that public, then add the :8211 at the end. Hopefully that helps!

I am curious how dedicated server players are faring after the first full week, if folks are seeing memory and even CPU usage issues on other providers.
