For people not being able to join their server internally but can get in from outside, direct connect to it with the server's private IP rather then public along with the port number. So instead of 142.45.xxx.xxx use your private server's IP, something like 10.0.xxx.xxx, 192.168.xxx.xxx etc. You can't use your public IP if you're going internally.

Server works pretty well overall, something to note is the ram usage is pretty high, there's definitely a memory leak somewhere, with about 7-10 people i peak at around 16 gigs after a day of uptime, i bet with more people usage could go to 30gigs on larger servers. Noticing some rollback here and there as well as some tick issues where the Pokemon will freak out for a bit when walking.

Server memory (RAM) usage increases over time and causes bottlenecks. I recommend restarting the Palworld game server at least every 12 hours. If your palworld server memory is 16GiB, you can restart the server every 6 hours to achieve better performance.

by restarting do you mean /save and close or is there another way to restart? I am currently only using it for like 3 people but after a while a lot of rubberbanding has happened for everyone. I am using the machine to run the game and the server though I have 32 gigs of ram so this shouldnt be an issue i dont think.

Yes, /save and restart the server to lower your RAM usage but 32Gib Ram for 3 people is more than enough.

My friend can't join the server I created. I've followed all the router and firewall settings from YouTube. What might be missing? For your information, I can't join any official servers.

Our biggest issue is the rubber banding that keeps happening when we try to play on a dedicated server on our own local network. Not sure if it's just the game having poor network optimization or something that we can do on our end. We have a dedicated machine that runs the server and 3 client machines connecting to it over a local network. The server machine has been used for numerous other games (Ark, Conan, Empyrion, Minecraft) with no problems so I don't know what the difference would be.

Updating the Palworld Server with new game server files, please follow these steps:

First, open SteamCMD and run these commands:

Type this code: "login anonymous" and hit Enter. (without ")

After that, download the latest Palworld server files with this command:

"app_update 2394010 validate" (without ")

SteamCMD will download the files and validate all of them.

After that, go to the PalworldServer\steamapps\common\PalServer file location and start the game.

That is it. You just updated your Palworld server to the latest version.

Running a dedicated server on an AlmaLinux box. No major issues hosting the server (outside mem leak), but serverconfig refuses to apply.

I copied the example config contents to ".../Pal/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/PalWorldSettings.ini" and made changes to name, playercount, etc but upon server restart none are applied. Am I missing a step or file location?

validate files on the dedicated server tool on steam it will add the missing files make a backup before hand if your server files are in their own folder copy them to the one in steam then validate I was able to update my server without loosing any progress

Hi, is there any recommended hosting, with min. 16 gb of ram, Singapore region? Went to use shockbyte, but they only provide 3 gb of ram (recommended one by the dev was 8!!) and even if I upgrade, their highest one was only 7 gb. Duh.

Location is correct: Pal/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/PalWorldSettings.ini

Could be a typo error? Copy the default settings from DefaultPalWorldSettings.ini and paste them into PalWorldSettings.ini. Make sure it is exactly the same and change only the server name to test it again.

Is there a way to automate/schedule messages? I want to schedule a notification that would alert players before a scheduled restart however a looping notification reminding players of the restart schedule or even a MOTD would be better than nothing.
