There are some unknown issues with servers ATM after the last update where players will be unable to connect to a server after around an hour or a half of it being booted up. Also there is a known bug where if someone leaves your guild while you are offline it will corrupt your server save file and it will need to be deleted for you to start playing again.

I did my own 32 man server with no online panel crap in 30 mins with steam cmd. Its really not that hard.

So, I'm new to the whole dedicated server thing. I got one up and running and had people connect to it, so outside connections are good, as are internal ones (I can play on the machine running the server.) However, hit a snag, and hopefully OP or someone else can help me out.

Currently running the server through the steam launcher option, which isn't an issue when I'm at the physical PC. However, it logs my status as "playing" the server while it's running, and as such I can't access games on my Ally or another PC / etc. Would running the executable itself solve this issue, or will I need to use the steamcmd option thingy to fix that? I know for instance vtubestudio has a batch file to run it without Steam logging it as being run, just curious how I can go about doing this so, say, I can hop on and check my server in-person from outside the house.

Thanks in advance.

Use steam cmd. Download server dedicated via steam and then make a folder on desktop called palworld.

In that folder make two further folders steam cmd and palworld server.

Download steam cmd and extract to cmd folder, copy palworld dedicated server folder via steam installation to server folder on desktop.

Change some values in the INI (look for guide online as there is a fake ini and the real one is located a couple folders deeper in the server folder. ) and then port forward on your router tcp/udp the games port, also check a guide on your respective router if need be and bam done.

Took me like ten mins. If done correctly you launch from desktop folder (server palworld dedicated.exe) without conflicting your steam account and i have had no issues doing it this way and been hosting a server for 2 days now.

Guilds seem to be causing several character bugs from not being able to log in to preventing you from using Hold button actions like holding down the attack button. Probably a network caching issue with how the server writes to the character's .SAV file.

There's a fix but that fix resets you to level 1. However you don't lose anything and you earn double the Technology points by leveling back up again.

I've been hosting a server on my machine just by installing it through Steam (not SteamCMD or some server management tool) and I am the only one that has had any issues and they have both been caused by Guild joining and leaving. Kicking a player from the Guild does not seem to cause these issues. Just them leaving the guild.

Ok, I already got the server running (think you missed that when skimming my post) but I'll try the other steps you mentioned there, mainly running it via the command. Don't want to lose the current progress on the server, small though it may be.

Thanks.

Anyone know why I can't join my own server, but other people can?
EQBoss 2024 年 1 月 24 日 下午 8:38
For people not being able to join their server internally but can get in from outside, direct connect to it with the server's private IP rather then public along with the port number. So instead of 142.45.xxx.xxx use your private server's IP, something like 10.0.xxx.xxx, 192.168.xxx.xxx etc. You can't use your public IP if you're going internally.

Server works pretty well overall, something to note is the ram usage is pretty high, there's definitely a memory leak somewhere, with about 7-10 people i peak at around 16 gigs after a day of uptime, i bet with more people usage could go to 30gigs on larger servers. Noticing some rollback here and there as well as some tick issues where the Pokemon will freak out for a bit when walking.

If the server is being run on the same computer your playing the game on, there is no need to input any IP when trying to connect. Whenever you go to the multiplayer section. Whatever default ip is in the bottom works just fine. just hit connect.

I thought this person was scamming people but they seem fairly knowledgeable.

So I'm using Linux_GSM to run my palworld server, everything so far was going fine, but I'm having trouble even connecting to my own server (timed Out). I can't tell if I have something setup wrong like my IP or port forwarding.

For just a test purpose, can you close your firewall and test it quickly. If your friends still can't join, Your wifi router probably have blocking.
Even with closed Firewall it isn't working

Okay, then it is your Router firewall that is blocking. Google it: your Router model + port forwarding and you can find tutorials on how to open ports in your router settings. Or read your Router manuals.

Open these ports:

PublicPort : 8221,
RCONPort: 25595,
Steam Query port: 27015

Server memory (RAM) usage increases over time and causes bottlenecks. I recommend restarting the Palworld game server at least every 12 hours. If your palworld server memory is 16GiB, you can restart the server every 6 hours to achieve better performance.

Connection timed out means your connection can not be established between your computer and to server. You should check your server's firewall.
