Nope, you have to designate how much of a food to make, unless you just want to feed them raw berries. Then just set up a couple berry fields and a feed pot and they'll put the berries in there. And voila, they are feeding themselves.

progress? the pals working on bases dont progress. they dont level up unless you have them in your party.

their skills dont improve. like a basic penguin is never going to get handicraft 2, you have to find better pals that have bettern skills.

food for base working pals is nothing more than filling up their hunger bar.

i sure it did say for better working as in less need for rest and better function co inside with amenities in your base and better quality food i.e better SANS and that kind of thing

just pop down a hot spring or 2 and the sanity issue shouldnt be a problem

yea i popped down a few but oddly i find they dont use them as much as i thought they would. i mean over all ive no issues in the base bar a lazy sod of a pal that needs a slap ever now and then but making sure i explore all aspects.

ok so ranch and fields... you put them out your chicken lays eggs at the ranch if you get a farm guy and a pengun they will plant and water the field some one will pick the food and take it to the pokemon food box same with the eggs at the ranch they get gathered and put in the food box. as for cooking you have to pick what you wanna cook and then start it and one of your pals should show up to cook it then you come back take it and do whatever with it. this is early access maybe they'll add where the pals farm the fields and ranch and then go cook it on their own but i doubt it unless they add where you tell the pals what to do like in rimworld

Make sure they can easily path to the hottubs. My pals use them constantly.

Wrong. I dont know if you have played over 5 mins or not but yes they do level up while working in base.

are you sure about that? i've had the same 2 cats working in my base since i first built it, they are still level 3 i dont think i've ever seen a base pal level up at all

They most assuredly do. It's not noticeable on higher level pals, but when you put a freshly hatched level 1 on a task you might check back much later and it's level 15.

then why has every pal i've put to work on my base since the start of the game never leveled? as soon as i put them in my party, sure they'll level pretty fast, but never on the base slots
