storage / organization
there needs to be a way designate what storage goes where so the pals just put only what you want where (example: a setting in storage to only allow a specific resource)

I think the devs said they will fix path finding AI. But you can help the Pals too, Just place stuff in there, matching what they do for now. Pain yes, but its a short term work around.

Although it would be nice to have i dont think its necessary when the game just pulls from all your chests to craft. You dont have to find most things to craft so most of the time its fine.

Just put a single chest near things you want to store there.

As the game accesses all chests within the palboxes reach there is *less* of a reason to be 100% organized.

For instance I have one chest by coal nodes, one chest by metal ores and a chest between both my forest and stone nodes. The pals walk 3 feet and deposit in the closest chest with no issues.

im happy with it so far honestly. just wish my pals would stop EATING MY DAMN WHEAT!

I keep special items in my actual home and just throw crap in random chests outside for crafting. Dont really need to organize anything.

Still, it helps to always store the same type of item in the same box. A single stack per item type requires less boxes to store them all.

Put wheat last in the feeding box, they eat from left to right so if wheat is last they won't be able to get to it (assuming you have berries in the box)

All they need to do is have an option in storage boxes to restrict pals from creating new stacks, so they'll only add to stacks that are already in the box.

Just make a fat chest for all the mats and let them make a mess of it. Chests act as a cloud so mats get pulled when crafting, no need to organize anything except weps, ammo, fruit etc

Just like in real life.

What I've taken to doing is putting unique items that the Pals cannot farm at my base into one box and sort it. After that take something that I have a bunch of and split it out to the empty slots in the box. Kinda like ya do in Minecraft. This prevents the Pals from putting random stuff in there.

I've gotten to the point of just rolling with the disorganized mess they make. That I don't have to chase it down to craft with it, I don't have to worry about it. If I needs space for something new I found, well guess I'm moving that random bit of what ever they put in that box.

Took me a while to adjust to this, but I've found it much more enjoyable after just accepting that it works.
