Egg Incubation Warming/Cooling? [SOLVED]
Anyone figured out why the heater/cooler sometimes works but not all the time? I built a small stone building, 2x2 stone everything, and even have a fire pit burning in the same room as the heater, yet my incubated eggs are still 'a little cold'.

Do I need to move to a hot/volcanic region or something? I've tried using 3 different flame pals and yet I cant get these eggs to warm for the life of me.

Anyone got a solution?

EDIT: For anyone who happens to see this (since it's becoming active again) I figured out the problem. I had my base in what I thought was a neutral temperature area, but it was actually a -1 cold area. After setting up a 2nd base in an actual area where the temperature was neutral the cooler/heater worked as they should, raising/lowering the temperature of the whole base by +/- 1.
If you don't know what the temperature of your area is, just look at the bottom left corner of your screen and you should see a gauge with a needle. Needle in the middle is neutral, anywhere left is cold and anywhere to the right is warm. The further the needle goes the colder/hotter it is.
EDIT2: Also, when night comes the temperature of your region, no matter where from what I can tell, will drop by at least -1 but others can be more extreme. In the desert regions of the map you'll go from blistering hot days to freezing cold nights, I don't recommend making your hatchery in any region/biome that has extreme temperatures.

Here is a link to a reddit post showing one location for a perfect hatchery.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Palworld/comments/1afnpdp/the_perfect_breeding_base_doesnt_exi/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3

To save a click the location is at -356, -74.
What makes it perfect is that it has a neutral temperature zone but once you move slightly it goes to a -1 zone. This lets you put a fire on the far neutral side to raise the nearby temperature to +1, effectively giving you a -1, 0, and +1 zones respectively. I use this currently and it's pretty dern good. Just build your base in the middle, where the temperature is neutral.

I just put the incubator in a room and if the egg demands more heat, I throw down enough campfires until it stops whining and starts hatching quicker.

Different eggs have different requirements. I had a large fire egg that wanted lots of heat. I had a frozen egg that was getting a bonus with no heating at all.

It seems to depend on the egg type as to what type of surroundings they want. So an ice egg wants a colder room and a fire egg wants a warmer room. It seemed too annoying trying to swap back and forth or have multiple rooms set up for different hatching needs. So I just tolerate whatever speed the eggs hatch at without either.

More fires doesn't help. I tried filling a room with fires. I couldn't get a scorched egg to very comfortable. I did get a grizzbolt egg to very comfortable during the day and a little cold at night. I think biome does make a difference but haven't tested it. eggs do require different conditions. I think some eggs even need to be cooled.

There is a heater and a cooler building that you can get. Heater looks like a 55 gallon drum, cooler looks like a big 'ol block of ice in a bowl. they are pretty early in the tech tree. Each one needs an assigned kindling or chill skill pal to make it do its heating or cooling. Just stick them both near the incubator and swap what pal is on either one as needed by your eggs.

I have a load of fire eggs which are never warm enough no matter how much fire I put around them.

Biome will affect base heat level. Not sure if you noticed, but there is a temperature gauge in bottom left hud. It will show current temp as well as threshold markers for the character depending on gear.

I couldnt get the scorching egg to be 100% incubation, it was always not hot enough. Heaters and campfires didnt seem to help much. I got it to 50% though. I think you might need to go to the volcano maybe. Near that starter ore area, you can get 100% on every egg other than scorching though.

If you surround the inubators with activated heaters AND coolers, then just pop out the designated heating pals if they need heat, or cooling pals instead if they need cooling. Neither if they are just right. Say you sent three heaters, and only two were needed to make things hot enough, the third can be dismissed or replaced at the base. Same for cooling.

Campfires heaters and coolers have a range. Electric heaters and coolers work for the entire base by adding one temperature notch in either direction (hot/cold) and require a pal on it.

Irritating part is ice eggs will not hatch in frozen region. States its too cold, and near volcano region its to hot for fire eggs, or even dragon eggs. We played on a friends server and our base was right at the middle of the temp range. Still had to have ice bucket for ice eggs and fire for fire eggs. Feel like temperature wise game needs tweaked. Joined another group of friends server once previous one sort of died off. One of our bases is one section to the left from the middle temp (colder side) though its a swampy looking region yet still too cold for fire eggs, but too warm for ice eggs. We had a second base literally across a dirt road from our first and on one side of it ice eggs were fine, then on the other side within the same base barrier it was too hot. Makes no sense. Put our 3rd base in the desert since I thought its likely less hot compared to the volcano. Its a bar and a half to the right on the temp scale. Still too hot for fire eggs. Even though the volcano is between the 3rd and 4th bar on the hot side. Makes no sense at all.

Here is hoping with next content they add, there is an upgrade option to the incubators. There is an upgrade to the forge and crafting tables, yet nothing for hatching and there is electricity in the game at a certain level. Why not an electric incubator that can adjust temp needed.
Rule of thumb:

Ice/Water/Dark = "cold" temperatures.
Electric/Grass/Normal = "normal" temperatures
Fire/Rock/Dragon = "hot" temperatures.

The temperature pointer radar thingy is useful.
"Normal" is when the pointer is in the middle.
"Cold" is when the pointer is one block to the left.
"Hot" is when the pointer is one block to the right.

Also only one instance of an object counts. So five campfires still amounts to one campfire. This too you can perceive on the pointer.

My advice:
Build incubators in a location where the pointer is naturally in the middle and make groups.
Place normal eggs in the house or outside, no fires or heaters.
Place hot eggs in the house or outside, WITH fires or heaters.
Place cold eggs outside, WITH cooler.

I play on normal solo (whatever those settings are) and I notice if the temp isn't right it just adds to the timer but I haven't had anything of any rarity go over 20 mins in the worst conditions. It might also be viable to just wait the extra time. (EDIT: I only hatched in normal temp areas otherwise haven't ....eggsperimented!!)

These are the setups I use so far.

Damp & Ice = Ice regions warmer area with cooler near = 24/7 100% if cooler is active
Verdant & Common = Forest region cooler area and fireplaces for 100% at day, 50% at night
Fire, Rocky & Dragon = Volcano regions cooler area with fireplaces = 24/7 100%
Dark = Volcano region cooler area with cooler near = 24/7 100% with cooler active
Electric = Volcano region cooler area = 24/7 100%

I set up little indoor hatchery rooms myself. It helps stabilize temperatures a bit. One with a cooler, one with a fire, and one that is neutral. Sure, it isn't always 100% and with fire eggs and still be a little cold, but not too worried if need a few minutes more for the sake of convenience.

Edit: and don't really need the cooler room either. Even ambient temperature, frozen eggs do reasonable enough.
