Dedicated server will not work
I don't know what else I can do to get this to work. Ive forwarded the port and added rules to the firewall. I've tried the steam app and steamcmd. I've changed the computers ip address. I've released and renewed the routers IP. I've changed the port to one I know has worked in the past. But nothing will work. The port stays closed when checking it and I can't capture any information with Wireshark. I booted up the old Minecraft server and that works fine but this game will not. I'm stumped!

yeah there seems to be multiple problems with multiplayer, problems they'll need to sort out. This is what Early Access is for. I've been mainly playing a solo game so far because of problems i was having with multiplayer.

Did you put your computer IP in the port forwarding spot? Did you select UDP? Did you set up port triggering? Did you verify your public IP? It works fine for me if your ports are closed you did something wrong in your port forwarding setup, nothing to do with the game if you use a 3rd party website to just check if your port is open or not.

Have you bridged your modem to a router? I use comcast and in order to get it to work I had to bridge it and then port forward at the router and not the modem.

It's a router modem combo not sure if that's an option for me

So was mine. Bridging the modem basically removes the onboard router from the equation allowing you to use your own. My issue was comcast had basically removed the ability to port forward on its own hardware. So I had to bypass it and use my own.

The port forward is udp for 8211 and the IP address is my local. I've use ipconfig to verify my local and public IP address and used multiple 3rd party sites to check the port.

Im at work and cant look to see what ones... but there is more than a single port that needs to be forwarded.

Chainging port number in .ini file doesn't take effect. I managed to change port by putting in additional startup parameter in Advance Properties. "port=xxxx" without quote. I have my dedicated server running on another pc with steam in offline mode.

Since the port problem shouldn't be on the game server's side (unless you edit the wrong ini file).
Your IP might be shared IP. It's one of the problem we have when we try to use our own PC to host the server of any games. You could try calling your ISP and ask for dedicate IP but that usually cost extra money.

We currently use GCP with a docker image we found online and it's no hassle to setup that you could try (if you know how to use docker that is) and it's free because you get some free credits with new account.

I used this site and it shows my port open (only while my server is running) https://www.ipvoid.com/udp-port-scan/

I don't think ipconfig can show your public IP, but maybe you meant something else. I just verified mine from my router control panel/ https://whatismyipaddress.com/

I have more that that one forwarded but I know that one should be udp I have to set to either or but I've done strictly udp and It makes no difference https://imgur.com/hUakJ5F

Possibly, We are all have different PC and know-how but we all use the same server executable. Not to belittle you, of course. But sometimes you can overlook small stuff.

No I get it, Some times stuff slips past you. Im not a genius when it comes to this stuff I'm just baffled because I've hosted servers for different games in the past and I can't get this one to work.
