Do they affect pal sanity? Wasn't sure. noticed things like "poor work conditions" and wasn't sure if lighting was one of the minor factors
i hate torches for the reason your kindling pals spend most of their time messing about and if they cannot path they basically go dormant.

I agree with them lasting longer and not forever. For example in Valheim they are not forever but they are way more than a single day for sure.
One thermal for five pals is a good number (for me).
So at 15 pals you want three thermals in your base.
Also food matters. Baked Berries only gives one sanity, now a cotton candy for example gives five, easy to get and works like a charm early game.
