Good base locations?
I have a base just northeast of the starting location on that nice flat island filled with trees and open space and honestly its wonderful, you guys have any good areas that can fit an entire base and is more or less level?

Favorite base locations?

The area just south of the small settlement near the beach (just southwest of the skeleton) is big enough for a full size palbox with one tree and no other objects in the area. Moved my base there today and it's great.

I've done a few level 1-20 runs just to get a feel of the game and what seemed to work best is anywhere between the Plateau of Beginnings and the Grassy Behemoth Hills area.

Your base is super unproductive at the start so just slap down the bare minimum and rush level 12. Don't even bother deploying a pal to it.

Then you can take down your minimalist base and move it deeper into the map to any multiple node mining spot with a good view.
the mountain top near the first ice boss, just after the rope bridge where there are lots of metal nodes.

A little hard to organise the buildings here but managable. You can make a mining pit and build structures all around on several height levels.

Metal nodes respawn if you don't build something on top of it.
There are enough trees on the cliff around.
For stone/berries, you drop the cliff toward the beach, you can get back up with the teleporter in the direct vicinity. For paldium, the river below the bidge holds 10+ nodes.
For quick access, Nothing stops you from building a tower to go from bottom of the valley toward the top of the cliff where your base is located.

Also, Only way to raid is from the bridge, which makes it extremelly easy to defend.

I did a quick run with a base there this weekend and yeah, it's really good if you have the resources unlocked to use it. It also has a fantastic view.
I really need to utilize my floors more.
my first base was right pass that women sitting by the fire and it was a horrible place and I got this game early so I didn't know you could pick up your Palbox or not kind of thing, finally made a second base, it has 6 iron ore spawns 2 rocks and 1 coal, and a bunch of trees and even a great view, and that Magical tree with the pal skills is at the top of the hill

if location has a good view then its good
This is how I picked mine too lol
I have mine on the plateau NW of Chillet. But I'm somewhat regretting it because of all the pathfinding bugs there. And if you do build there; Never try to build a tower more than 2 floors, because it just bugs out the entire base. The Pals will never be able to see anything on that 3rd floor, and the rest of the base will have the workplaces go undetectable a lot.

But on the plus side, most invasions are easily exploitable because the enemies just stand at the bottom of the cliff with their thumbs up their rear; Allowing your to shoot/beat them down and they don't even fight back.

The only way in and out of the base without climbing the rocks:

Ty for this one. I wanted something beachy for my breeding & ranching base.
So I made a new game, and I got a new favorite location. It's relatively flat, and I can use the entire area with no random blockages. Here it is:

The Inside, and yes, I made one big building covering the entire area:

A really good place is just above that Bee boss you just keep going north & there's plenty of ore & trees & a coal deposit & a spirit tree & cage camps spawn nearby & it's enough flat terrain to biuld everything you need plus for what ever reason my palls don't get stuck nearly as much as other locations.
Anywhere flat and high up. There's a good spot just slightly southeast of the cold biome tower
Not the flattest but a youtube video did direct me toward a mountaintop exactly base radius with several Coal+Ore nodes. East-ish of "The Guardian" waypoint, due south of the small ice encircled lake in the north-central forest area.
Terrain kind of sucks, need stone foundation to even get your palbox up in the center, but you CAN deck it out with all the game progression amenities and have it be fully operational. I fit all 3 endgame production lines, a ranch, 2 hot tubs, a stone quarry, etc all up there.

It's the best if you want to have 1 base handle everything, you will rarely need to hit up a small amount of Sulfur or Quartz yourself.
Elsewise, any of the Many Ore + 1ish Coal would be your best bet. Once you get to Pal Ingots, you're pretty much just gated by Ore+Stone.

Small tip for base building.... Build a wood foundation first before you put down you PAL Box. A big misconception is that you need a wide berth of flat land to build a base and that's not true. If you build a wood foundation a little above ground level then you can continue to build everything on that. There are very few structures that actually need to touch the dirt to function.

I had to remove those later because some pals are not able to step on them, while I couldn't build stairs to help them
I’m still looking for a nice location myself. Biggest priority by far is a large area of flat, even ground. Any other features are negligible.
