Base's Pals die by some unknown reasons?
My Pals at base often randomly die after i went out for a while. My Pals are all lv40+ so I don't think even a raid could do 1/10 of their health. I build my base around lv26-28 wild pals area.

they usually get stuck and just die due to not having their needs met lol

Do you have feeding place for pals?
Also your area stays inactive if youre not there in SMP (what Ive read) which causes them to starve even though they wont function otherwise... Big mistake on devs behalf there.
Ive not experienced any kind of issues, sure the pals eat constantly so I turned the food drop the slowest possible, they still eat constantly. You might want to try different types of foods or add a chicken farm and berry farm to maintain your foods.

The pathing is pretty bad, especially with the larger ones. I've seen flyers get trapped on top of a small building. They can fly, but they're totally stuck. Need to stash and recall them to make them good again.

Always be aware of what info pops up at the left of your screen (Pal is hungry, Pal is sick, etc) and if possible check their status when you return back to be 100% sure that they don't have any issues.
Also be aware that Pals if got in camp fire, they die from burning and fire does them a good damage (I noticed with mine and hopefully I was near and removed the campfire from the area of their walk)

How I understand it is that if you are away from your base, the pals get put into an "abstracted" state, where the server doesn't keep strict tabs on where they are, just an approximate, so they can keep working, but it doesn't put a huge load on the server.

Then when you come back to the base, they get put in the place where the server thinks they should be.

But it can sometimes mess up and the pals spawn somewhere high in the sky or inside the ground.
And they are not immune to fall damage.

Not sure if you are talking about MP servers but on single play I think it doesn't do that ("abstracted" state as you saying). I just find them working just fine, and even if they are close to the cliff they don't fell down (only once happened when I aggro a wild Pal and brought it to the base and my Pals started attacking it).

I just had three randomly dead. 2 at one base and 1 at another within like 10 minutes. I've got 50+ hours in the game and this has been happening since day one. I'll be out mucking around for an hour or so then TP home and I'll have a random dead pal. We have raids off and no pal should just die. I am also in a place with no enemies around so..? Yea not sure what happens. Wish there was like a log or something that tells you what happened.

Is that a bug that happens in MP game (servers)? Because on my single play, it doesn't happen (I mean dead from unknown cause). The only death that happen to me from unknown case was when I was in my building and I left the game running to go and make some coffee and when I return I saw the "Defeat" message (which was strange because in my single play I have Raids off). That was the only "strange" death that happened to me.

As far as I'm aware they usually die effectively to "offline raids" is the idea. So if you build walls around your base and stuff they're a lot less likely to die. Either that or just a bug like some other people have said. One friend did say once they walled in their base they haven't seen it happen since though but I haven't personally tested anything yet.

Yeah, I left my Base for a bit to chase down and throw a sphere at a Shiny Celeray, then came back to discover my cow Pal had been incapacitated out of nowhere, lol

I've found flying types have a habit of pathing over campfires and getting set on fire and dying, so that is also a possibility.

My Loupmons like to climb up the silo and then don't find their way back down again and starve. It's kind of funny to see them up there, helplessly staring at the horizon LOL

Might want to examine your structure layout. Pals have a tendency to get stuck on what you consider "space-saving methods". Give clearance for pathing to register things better, and ffs avoid combining foxparks with wall torch. The little fox, if the torch is slightly over something, will read as the most efficient way to the torch is through the other side of the wall. This creates a feedback loop where the ai is trying to complete the task, but cannot, and is slowly withering away. Pal beds, also should be only 1 per foundation. They can technically fit more, but ai doesn't read a safe path to them anymore.
