This game needs target assist BADLY
I'm an older gamer and have familial essential tremor in my hands. The Pal Balls require precision targeting. The reticle is way too faint to see when any action is going on, and my hand shakes enough to kill targeting anything moving.

Either need aim assist for them, or when you miss, just have the ball land on the ground so it can be picked up! A function of my tremor is that the more precise I have to move my hand, the worse it shakes, to the point where my hand cramps.

Not sure about the keyboard, but if you press down 'Aim' L2/LT on the controller, it will automatically follow the target.
And later, when you are high enough level (50, I think), you can unlock the homing sphere launcher.

Bah. Is that max level? Sounds like one of those items you get after completing a game that would have been useful the entire time you played. I mean I'll have to capture a few hundred pals in the meantime, probably wasting a thousand balls.

It's infurating. Combat is so difficult for me with the controller, but is much better with mouse and keyboard. Aiming the balls is much easier with the controller, but next to impossible with mouse and keyboard.

Don't get old, guys. It sucks. I don't recommend it.

It's pretty early in development, but I hope that we get the full set of accessibility options as things progress. Hopefully the devs will publish a roadmap for discussion soon.

Im almost 50 and I 100% disagree. No assist even on controllers. If I have to suck so does everyone else :D

At least on servers there is a setting for aim assist, seperate for both KB+M and controllers.

I have not tested either, so how effective they are might be hit or miss, but the settigns at least exist

LOL. Of all things I had to inherit it had to be the shaking my grandfather had. I can't even begin to list all of the weird things in games that happened because of it. It's crazy how much I swear at my hands. More than once I've had to press keys so fast with my left hand that the wires got so crossed between my brain and my hands that it just started pounding on the keyboard. I was just sitting there looking at my hand going "finished with your tantrum yet?!?" =D

it 100% does NOT need auto aim. they just added an auto aim feature to basic pal attacks when mounted. it SUCKS. my attacks constantly move from where I want them to go, sometimes curving 90 degrees to hit some OTHER target. just learn to deal with it. I have hand tremors sometimes as well and honestly its far easier to compensate your aim then it is to deal with crap auto aim tech.
Xilo The Odd Feb 4, 2024 @ 1:19pm
i'd settle for a throw while you are literally inside a alpha pal to just be an auto hit when you throw it.

XBox Version has aim assist and target lock with controller.
Zef Feb 4, 2024 @ 1:21pm
Just use a controller and keep dodging until you're in a better position to throw a palball.

I hardly ever aim more then 45°

Guys, just cause you don't need aim assist doesn't mean someone else doesn't. They absolutely should add an OPTION (or slider) for aim assist/sticky targeting. If you don't want/like it, don't use it.
Hammer Of Evil Feb 4, 2024 @ 1:28pm
accessibility stuff should be added, whether the devs do it or not, you can bet the modding community will get this on lockdown. aim assist / target switching can be a thing for sure. a 'hold to target' lock system would be fine too i think.

in the meantime, you'll have to be patient, op. we won't be able to publish good mods till the game is mainly completed.

ive got a framework built for colorblindness / brightness / contrast scaling on the hud, (yes i didnt sleep last night) and will probably add that in to whoever else's mod decides to tackle the same area.

just won't be able to publish till its not getting patched as often.

To add to this, some mounted Pals have attacks that auto-target, which would be nice to turn the targeting down or off on those too.
