Is there any benefit to higher level cooling ability?
I'm starting to get into tiers with critters that have level 2 or more cooling, and trying to figure out if there's any purpose for that. All of the cooling jobs seem to be purely binary, on or off, and there's nothing "efficiency" would do at any of them.

There no real incentive in refrigerating at the moment, the countdown for the spoiling items are spoiled 1 by 1. With that work slot, you can probably just make more of that item in bulk.

1) that is not what was question about
2) you can have food and not only mats

anyway, im curious about level of freezing too
I was more interested in things like getting 2 levels of coldness for egg hatching
Yes! The cooling level corresponds to how cool they can keep you. (I think it directly corresponds with the "cooling level" stat in the tooltip of armors.) If you have a level 1 cooling pal in your team and you throw them out while exploring the desert area, they will keep you cool if you do not have appropriate clothing. A Pengullet would work for this as an example. However, the volcano is much hotter, so you might try a Sweepa, with a coollng level of 2. There seems to be no effect on the spoil time of items in the refrigerator no matter the cooling level of the pal. Cute little Jolthog Crysts or Pengullets will do the trick. Hope this answers what you're actually asking!

Mmhmm for refrigeration it's much better to just use a little Swee or Crysthog so that they take up less room in your base and eat less, too.

So trying to figure this out myself, I just put a Crysthog down to see and time to spoil on my wheat was 400min. then i took it out and put a cryolix in there that has lvl 3 cooling and reset the cooldowns and the time to spoil on my wheat went up to 600min. so it appears that the level of cooling does in fact effect the spoil time of the items in the fridge.

I have a Suzaku in my party. He has level 3 Kindling, but he only raises my temperature by 1 level.
The cooling sucks.. all it does is add to the timer while they are there.. if they get up and leave that time vanishes and it goes back to the normal time and stuff still expires.. I think the cooling should have a lingering affect or a charge kinda like the power cells.. the way it is now I don't even use a cooling pal.. I just over produce my goods to make up for the things that spoil. It's a stupid system.

There is no real reason for cooling yet. When your food is about to spoil just sort your inventory. Of course I imagine that will be patched in the future. But until then the refrigerator is just a novelty, I use mine for the ability fruits.
my guess would be it makes the cooling more effective.

like fool spoils slower on level 2 cooling than level 1.

and the coolers make the area around them even colder.

but ive never actually used cooling so no idea if true.

really? to me it seemed the cooling level skyrocketed the timer on each food item in the coolerbox depending on the cooling level

pals dont auto eat from the cooler, so its a nice place to keep all your raw ingredients into one place once u get into the stage of cake making in the hundreds without having them spoil
