The keybinds I use for games like this are mostly
F= Scroll Click on my mouse (Why is there no way to rebind the action button?)
Left CTRL = R CTRL
Left Shift = R Shift
Please change this, I cannot use WASD to play games, as it severely impacts my ability to play the game to the best of my ability.
iam 36 years old get used to w,a,s,d its way better.
you can use microsoft power toys there is a keyboard mapper included that changes these keys in the registry but be aware it changes the keys globaly
but it can be toggled on/off.
Also WASD isn't actually better if you use a 16 button mouse, but for a standard 3 button mouse, its necessary if you don't have the options to press those other buttons, I've been playing with Arrow keys, 16 button mouse and num pad for a long time and I've never had any issue.
Tried a long time ago with Binding of Issac and StarBound, Absolutely could not play without using a remapper.
I'm using Raser Synapse which does the same thing, the game literally does not recognize the remapping and thus the key does not work.
I don't think its a windows registry problem, its a _The Game literally does not recognize the input_ Which means nothing will work with the desired remapping until the developers design it to recognize it.
I've played with plenty of games in Unreal Engine before and rebinding to Right Shift/ctrl and scroll clicks were recognized just fine, In have no idea why they did this.
Point is, my brief test worked fine. Seriously, give SharpKeys a try.
You can rebind N to Left Shift because it is recognized input by the game,
Rebind Left Shift to Right Shift. The input will likely not be recognized.
When you try to rebind to Rshift or Rctrl in the game keybinder, it just says "Key cannot be used."
Nor does the Middle mouse button ((Scroll click button as its called))
I have never seen in my life a game that does not recognize Right Shift/Ctrl buttons.
Middle mouse button isn't really required as I can bind it to one of the other buttons on my 16 button mouse, but it would greatly make action usage more efficient and comfortable for me as it feels awkward to use my thumb.
I know how a button remapper works friend, and what I am trying to express to you is that the game itself does not recognize the key press for the 2 keys that I want to use because the developers have for whatever reason intentionally disabled their usage from the players in the game.
what I am requesting the devs to do, is to make it so that the game will recognize those inputs so that I can utilize them for my most comfortable style of keybind setup instead of being force to use WASD style, which my keyboard/mouse and
Try rebinding with your keymappers ((I have already tried using 2 different remappers and I got the same results, the game does not recognize the inputs for RShift or RCtrl, nor Scroll Clicks))
Left Shift to R Shift.
Left Ctrl to R ctrl
F to Middle mouse wheel.
These inputs are _NOT_ recognized by the game, it does not matter if you remap for them with a 3rd party remapping software, if the game itself cannot recognize the input,
You want to make the wanted key appear to the game as the currently bound key.
So, bind Right shift to Left shift, Right Ctrl to left Ctrl.
I just tried this in SharpKeys and it worked perfectly. It will probably work for your keyboard software as well.
Again, do not change the ingame keybinds.
Use the remapping software to make the game think the right key is being pressed.
Ahh you're right, sometimes I hate being autistic. Thanks.
