transport to storage

anyone else have the problem where pal will start a new stack of an item instead of going 2 feet over and putting it with the other 2k of the same kind

How do you even Command Pals to use the nearest boxes?
My Pals only use Chests, and they use them in Absolut Random Order..... They move to the farthes away chest for Wood.... but for Stone which is right next to it, they just use the chest right in the Middel of nearest/farthes and so on.

They go to the closest storage unit where they are travelling from.

My pals always stop transporting and there are just piles of raw resources everywhere and nobody goes to pick that stuff up, its really strange. Even after re assigning my pals they just look stupidly into the ether and dont move.

I just fill my storages with only the items I want in them so pals don't have a choice but bring it to the right storage. Rock box full of rocks no empty slots only rocks can go there, etc.

This is how I solved it too. Just make sure every slot has at least one of X thing in it, and that's all they can bring there.
