Survival server always does that even if they dont know if there will be dedicated server or not... just marketing stuff
Sounds like from their FAQ, we'll be able to create our own 32p servers.
"[How does multiplayer work in Palworld?]
You can play Palworld with up to 3 friends by simply starting a multiplayer game and inviting them (4-player co-op). Beyond this, you can create a dedicated server, which will allow for up to 32 players to play in the same world and create guilds together. We will provide the tools to create these servers yourself at launch."
thats basically what most sever hosters do. they make it easyer for many people to set this stuff up.
but you can run your own server on a pc at home (if you have a strong pc even while playing the game on the same machine) for many games (TF2, L4D etc)
go to your steam library, in the upper left corner pull the menu down. theres something called Tools. thats where the server and modding stuff for your games is hiding
