Digtoise do almost no damage to Ore Nodes when assigned to a base
Hello friends. I'm having some weird issues. I've found a plot with 8 Iron nodes and made a base on it. Then set 4 Degtoise on it to mine the iron. The problem is they keep doing 1 damage per hit to the nodes when gathering.... But if i put the digtoise in my party and send him mining it does 20-30 Damage per hit. No other mining pal seems to have this reduced gathering damage.

He is the most effective mining pal, dont worry about the 1 damage

But when i left them there for hours while exploring i came back to like 19 Ores. When i replaced them with Dumuds i came back to over 150 After an hour. I tested it myself. And in my game they appear to be bugged

I have the same issue, spot with a ton of ores but he just doesn't mine them effectively AT all. For now I think the best we can do is just use the other miners like Dumud until something changes.

I think i have seen what you are saying, the whale and the bat seem more consistent. But from time to time turtle will do what he is suppose to and he kills it.

Regardless of how much damage they do, they still produce about 40-50 iron every 30 or so minutes just makes sure you have a chest and some transporting pals.

i have the same prob. I used 2 Digtoise for 2 ore spots. They attack like 2-3 times and then go to eat - repeat.
when i use anubis he does 42dmg and mines way faster even tho both have mining 3.

I managed to breed anubis with 2 random parents and put 4 of them in my base. Works way better tbh

Digitoise are great manual ore miners but are terrible in your base. Anubis is by far the best automated mining pal. Before then penking and tombats are the way to go.

Check their negative traits. I had a big blue dino that was a great worker, but he had gluttonous for a trait. So he would work for two seconds and then run over and eat for 10 seconds. Over and over and over.

This happens because they are programmed to go Eat when they Reach 50% Food. Then they eat 1 piece of berry which gets them just above 50%. Then they go back to work. Then 10 seconds later they will get below 50% food and go back to eat. Seems they aren't actually programmed to eat to full when they go eat. Only eat a couple pieces of food. So better food is a must here

Alright. I just tested this. A Level 3 Mining Digtoise will produce 1 piece of metal every 19.5 Seconds. A level 2 Mining Penking will produce 1 piece of metal every 11.5 Seconds. I put them both out on full food. And put them out seperately. and tested them using a stopwatch untill the point they went back to eat.. So there is definitely something going on with the Digtoise.

That's what I been saying. If you make the headband and have one in your party, it decimates nodes very quickly, but in automatic base mode, they suck doing 1 damage at a time, even if fairly quickly. Anubis is the miner you want.

Yeah ill definitely go get some when i get high enough level to challenge him :)
You can breed them as well. He has a surprisingly high breed power so it's pretty easy to get him once you understand how breeding works.

has anyone noticed the digtoise actually floating above the ore stone when mining? assuming he isnt supposed to do that either, not sure if thats also what makes him not as quick as other pals

I've had him float above the rock many times. But i've also had him spin normally on the ground. And there was no difference in resource gain speed.
