Higher levels XP farming
currently 36, trying to grind out levels but damn the resource cost on spheres is insane and boss killing feels tedious too. Anyone got any tips?

Work on completing your paldeck. The lower level pals don't require expensive spheres to capture. Alternatively, you can make an egg incubation farm. Hatching a pal counts as a capture and gives exp the same way. So you can breed to get 10 of almost every pal, it just takes a lot longer.

I'm at 47 now and have to capture the higher level pals to finish my deck at this point. It's easier to just boss hunt when you get that high instead. What I do now is hit up all the caves in the snow. I capture the boss at the end and loot the chests to get high tier accessories and schematics. Much more entertaining of a grind and more rewarding.
I level quickly by fighting the cultist. especially freeing a caged pal on their base. gives you decent exp and you don't need balls.
My solution to this was to start marking dungeons in the lategame areas (the northern ice biome has the highest level bracket for this, as an aside) and just cycling through them every few hours on a univolt. Have shockwave/lightning strike on its move roster, ride it, and just slaughter every living thing you see. Groups will yield 2-5k experience per pop; capturing bosses will yield 20-35k. You can also just sit in one and endlessly grind by cycling back and forth between rooms if that's your thing, but dungeon cycling can net you early access to gear you'll want before you unlock it (eg. high-end shotguns and assault rifles, which you can buy ammo for at the merchant in fisherman's point or duneshelter at any level) along with the prior posters' aforementioned 10-cap experience bonus.

Oh - and drag any eggs you find back to base. Set up a few dozen incubators and drop them in on your way between activities to increase your capture coverage. You'll occasionally find uncommon/rare eggs, which will help to supplement your capture range until you can start hitting the lategame safari islands.

Exactly this. Same idea I had, but Wolfguarde worded it better.

A few dozen incubators? Have you set up a multifloor structure resembling the towers in the Matrix? o_O
Run like 4 vixys in your ranch, or 8 in two ranches. You'll get an infinite number of basic pal spheres. Use that to hunt down ten of every Pal around level 25 or lower. Doesn't matter if the catch chance is even 1% since you'll have unlimited blue spheres.

You can go to the desert area up north and buy mega spheres endlessly too. Assuming you farm some dungeons/bosses semi regularly for the money/xp.

Catch 10 of everything. The catch XP bonus is too good to pass up. Yeah, the spheres are expensive. Catch water pals, and pals that drop bones, then butcher them to get double the resouces for more cement. Set up a mining base that is near 8-10 ore nodes. Two things you should always be crafting automatically are the best sphere you can, and the best ingot you can. In higher level biomes, you'll find higher level spheres on the ground. Keep in mind that you don't need to use the best sphere you have at all times. You can hold the throw sphere button to get an idea of your chances of catching the pal, and cancel the throw if you want to see how another sphere would do.

At your level, I'd go catch 100 of my favourite pal, then pick ones with good traits to breed. Once you have a pal with the bred traits you want, Use the pal distiller to strengthen it's star rating to max by sacrificing the pals you discarded during the process. This will give you a better goal than just running around, and catching 100 of any pal similar to your level will level you up a few times.

Sounds more like a job than a video game.

So, wait. It's a "Job" to be incentivized to go out and catch 10 of a Pal, not only to get increased XP for your level, but to also drop those Pals into the existing ones to level them up? Weird ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ take but okay. Why play any game then if playing it (or it's game cycle) is just going to be reduced to being a "Job"

yes?
I've added more since then. 69 so far. You will want that when you start breeding to get your quality boss captures to 4 stars.
If you don't like the idea of grabbing 10 of each, go out exploring instead. Grab every egg you find while you're at it and generally just look for neat stuff, fast travel points, and any pal you like the look of or haven't caught before. Then go back to base any hatch all the eggs you got, there are some pal species I'm at 10/10 for but I've never actually caught one, they're all from random eggs.

Or go hunting for a good version of a pal you actually like, but opportunistically grab other pals while you're out there.

By the time you really need exp, you're only really filling in the gaps for the most part.

It only feels grindy if you treat it as a grind from the very start. It's not a race, it's a sightseeing tour, relax and enjoy the ride.

Maybe they want a way to level up without doing anything? Which such a method of afk xp farming does exist. It's just not the efficient. You'd have a base dedicated to food farming, then cook said food for the xp. You'd have to build it on a mountain area too where raiders can't attack to be on the safe side while you afk in your base. Your Pals could probably produce 10k berries every 8 hours, maybe more. And 10k berries cooked would net you 10k xp. Which killing one Mammorest field boss would yield the same result and take like 5 minutes at lvl 36 probably.
Collect and complete Paldeck make it 10/10 in every species it give high bonus experience just use blue sphere make sure to catch Vixy first make it two of them and craft Ranch for them for unlimited arrow and blue sphere and you good to go to collect all pals
Take you time and play . There's no rush.

I've considered it, a few times. I settled for having my breeding farm on my roof with around 14 of them set up in a loose arc around it. I've seen how people set up their breeding bases, though... there's players out there with 100+ incubators XD
Was wondering if anybody found a way to level pals after your character hits 50. After hitting level 50 player the pals that are below 50 now do not get the bonus xp for catching pals, but the xp still shows up full coming to the character (maxed out at 50). Is there a faster way to level pals without abusing a glitch?

murdering give not so much xp. It's like 5k for a lvl 45. Pal

doing high level dungeon runs is still the fastest way. The enemies are more densely packed, making AOE very quick exp.
