Pals getting stuck randomly
Hi, just curious if anyone else has been experiencing this and found a work around...ive been sometimes seeing my pals stuck on top of the logging camp, giant capsule (the enhancing tube for pals) or other random items...anyone know why they do this?

Do know im aware its EA and im not to bothered, me and my friends have chalked it up to "its purpose is above our understanding" or "it thinks its a cat now"

Flying pets are rhe worst offenders, it's best to settle your base where the terrain is flat rhe entire circle of the base to, cuz they will wonder and get stuck on random terrain bits and die of hunger lol and only use the non flying pals

figured terrain would play a factor, as are current base is connecte to a ruined tower

A problem people have noticed is that pals tend to spawn at specific points inside the base zone, but the game doesn't make sure that they actually spawn at ground level, so you might find a pal randomly getting stuck on top of a statue of power or your house's roof. Hopefully that will be cleaned up a little on a patch soon, but for now I think the best you can do is leave plenty of open space around your pal box

hm good to....for now ill just keep yelling at them to stop trying to be a cat and to get down from those places...then proceed to call them stupid for getting stuck up there and are now hungry

I've had them get stuck on/in/up the trees associated with the logging camp, stuck on a base roof and even stuck behind my base wall when it was close to a stone pile. Usually when I come back into camp and get the 'has not eaten in a while' notification, I automatically go to the Palbox and drop them into the main storage area and then drop them back into the base pool. 90% of the time they run for the food box then go about their business.

Yeah their pathing is pretty awful at the moment. The turtles you'll probably end up using for mining get stuck on top of nodes constantly, and like someone else said flyers are also really bad.

The other issue I've seen constantly is all my transport pals walking on top of the berry plantation to pick up berries, not picking them up for some reason, and then just standing there stuck and starving until I grab the berries myself. Mostly seems to happen in secondary bases but not the primary, despite them all being on perfectly flat ground.

If you look around there are a number of locations that 'wild' Pals hitch up into. I've marked a few down and sure enough, they respawn there again and again. If I kill them (sometimes they are inaccessible) and check later, they are back. Different pals, same location so it's a contouring/edge something that is hooking them, I think.

I've had issues with them getting in places and being unable to reach the food, so i have made a new base, which still ended up having problems. I've even one time had a pal get stuck inside an enclosed building of mine, being stuck between 4 walls that the game I guess decided to spawn them into when I fast-traveled back.
Sometimes they end up outside the walls of my base that surround the perimeter of the boundary as well, meaning, no path to food once again. Had to destroy a few walls and just leave them open because of this.

There are pathing issues for sure.

When working inside the base, it seems pretty bad. When following you in the open, they are pretty dumb as well. Always falling off edges, etc. They seem to follow you with no regard for terrain.

I do hope they change the base pathing, though, they get stuck a lot and need to be recalled often. Or exit and reload the game.

The problem's just compounded when every pal with 3-4 in their work skills are also huge, It'd be nice if I could have a pal for freezing or kindling that isn't the size of a tank.

Oh the logging camp is terrible. But the thing that seems to have solved the issues for me was moving my walls WAY out from the base. Turns out they were sort of walking through the logging camp by trying to go behind it and glitching up on top.

Also solved the spawning outside the walls issue I had.

The sort of work around is to put tall structures like infuser and statue of power at the edge of your base near nothing else, so the pals never even go near them in the first place...unless they go on break and wander over.

Don't use digitoise for automated mining (it's amazing when it's in your party but terrible outside of it).

When warping to a base see if anyone is hungry, it probably means they are stuck, so just drag them into the box and then back into the base and they'll spawn back unstuck and probably run to eat.

While out traveling you can try and pay attention to the messages and see if anyone is upset/slacking off/hungry. It likely means they got stuck.

I have them get stuck trying to collect the same stuff from farms a lot.
Honestly to solve this I just have a box of 3 or so replacements lol if one goes down replace it lol
