Mining Pals Ignore Ore
So, my mining pals completely ignore ore nodes in favor of the ore pit. If I throw them at the ore, they will mine for a bit, then after they take their next break they will focus on the stone pit again.

Yea ore nodes in bases seem to be ignored, needs a fix for sure.
What i useally do is trow my pal on the ore node and mine aside it, finishes in a couple of seconds that way.

Ok, so its not just a my base thing. Hopefully this can be fixed soon.

From what I know, the Pal needs to have Mining 2 to go after ore nodes

Ore requires 2 (I believe) quartz and coal require mining 3

Ill check the mining 2, sounds like a logical thing, in after thought. Good pointer.

I have pals with high enough mining. Again, if I toss them at the ore node, they mine it until their next break then go right back to the stone pit.

remove the pit, and they'll only go for the nodes in base. i managed to score a good spot with a lot of ore and tree nodes so i don't even need those structures. need a base over coal nodes and quartz nodes though.

They ignore the ores if you have a stone pit in the base. You also need mining 2 in order to have a pal mine ore. Mining ore is low priority, so you might need to set up a base where your miners have nothing else to do. Tombats are a good starter, but they ignore ore and tend crops a lot, so try to find a pal that only mines.

Hadn't even considered someone would have a stone pit at a mining base. That's more of a main base thing, but yes that would be prioritized.

The AI prioritizes the mining station over nodes. You can fill the base with enough miners to the point where they are forced to mine the nodes (more than 3) or you can just remove the mining station altogether. Manually grabbing and throwing them at the nodes isn't a good way to gather resources as time spent babysitting is time spent you could be doing something else. Given how much ore you need for thing it may be wise to have at least one base designed to mine nodes without a mining station.
