About flying mounts

I have been using Nitewing, or whatever this first bird we can finf is called. but it's so painfully slow, I want to find something better. I tried Hellzephyr and Vanwyrm, but they all seem about equally fast. So, is there any flying mount that si faster than the rest? Or should I just pick any that i like and try to catch/breed one with Swift trait?

i cant remember the exact numbers, but when i tested nitewing vs vanwyrm, vanwyrm was faster, and helzypher was noticeably faster than both

If I breed two pals of different species, like, say, lamb and chicken, the offsprign will be completly random? I have two or three lucky pals, and I was wondering if it was possible to pass this trait on my other pals.

Aside from the legendary Jetragon which you won't get until late game, Faleris. Better speed than Beacon, and MUCH better stamina. Beacon is decent but low stamina. Some people also said Ragnahawk is fast, haven't tested it yet.

They should improve flying later on in the game.
You should have freedom of movement and it shouldn't be so linear.
I'm not sure if they just added basic flight into it and they plan to improve it, it would surely be fun to actually feel like you're flying, something like in "Century: Age of Ashes", the flying in that game is wicked.
