Does Custom difficulty settings disabled achievements?

I disabled item drop on death, does that mean I won't get the whole "catch X number of pals"?

When I change the difficulty back to normal/non-custom does that re-enable achievements or is it disabled permanently per game save? Not obvious and I didn't find an answer in the discussion search.

You can earn achievements of Custom difficulty playthroughs. I was able to get the achievement for catching 1 Pal on my Custom difficulty singleplayer file.

No. I edited some of the settings on mine and I still get achievements.

Unlike certain other games, changing the game options does not disable achievements.

Hard difficulty has some absurd changes that doesn't have a place in coop/single player.

i feel this so much. I started on hard and played for about 6 hours. I finally said eff this and switched to normal. Its useless punishment lol.

There could be one reason why you didn't get your achievements. My internet was offline. Some of the game I play didn't get my achievement at all. So have to do it again to get it.
