From where?
Hell, Nintendo wasn't even first on the scene, they were just the most popular one in the genera to become the mainstream and standard, just like what happened with Dark souls.
Look up Megami Tensei sometime, it came out 9 years before pokemon red, blue and yellow. You have "pocket" monsters, in this case demons that you can summon (up to 4 at a time! took Pokemon quite a while to implement more than 1 at a time) and have help you in combat, they can even fuse and be changed into a more powerful monster.
Even if some of them look similar, it's likely not grounds enough for a lawsuit either because Nintendo has diluted their own IP to the point where most of their new creations look like they belong to another franchise. Others are inspired by japanese folk lore. As an example Ninetails is a pokemonified kitsune from japanese folk lore. It's a pretty high bar that Nintendo would have to cross to prove beyond any doubt that their trademark has been infringed by Palworld.
But given Nintendo's track record with lawsuits, it wouldn't surprise me if they tried with a lawsuit. But that's a can of worms they have to be very very careful to open or they can end up in the same situation as MacDonald's did when they tried to sue Supermac's and ended up loosing the trademark for "Big Mac".
Lol you really dont know how copyright law works. XD
Secondly, the creature designs in this game completely dump on any of the trash pokemon designs from the last Poke titles.
And finally, Palworld is everything Pokemon should have been and hilariously failed to be since they started releasing games on the Switch.
As a diehard Pokemon fan since Red and Blue released in Europe, and a life long Nintendo fanboy since I was damn near an infant I am glad Palworld has kicked Nintendo and especially Gamefreak, right in the teeth because it has been a very, very long time coming.
All of the best Pokemon games made in the last decade have been fan made.. and that's a fact.
Nintendo & Gamefreak have ignored it's long time Pokemon fans for years, refusing to evolve the series along side the fans who helped build it.
And more so screwing them over too when they decide to go and make the Pokemon games they know everyone actually wants.
And all so they can keep shovelling out the same dumbed down, hand holding, babyfied garbage that frankly is an insult to all the pokemon games that came before them.. as well as the fans who loved them.
I'ts never been a worse time to be a Pokemon fan.
But thankfully games like Palworld and Temtem are here to give people the kind of Pokemon-like games that Nintendo is too arrogant to accept that it's real Pokefans actually want.
