Attack stats worth it?
2% of it's original value per level seems like a pretty hard nerf compare to other stats upgrades. Is there something about atk that I'm not aware of that warrants this much balancing nerf?
I'm only playing pve, any reason I should invest in it at all?

As far as I can tell its a wasted point, weapons give you a ridiculous amount more attack and you won't be relying on them much, although you can.
I haven't used it much yet myself, but see here a reason that makes sense: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1623730/discussions/0/4132683013937453337/

Not really as your Pals will always do a lot more damage then you can do. Focus on Life, stamina, and weight.

I mean your weapon has ridiculously huge attack, and then + X*2%. +20% on top of a 500 damage weapon is another 100 damage. Is it worth investing all your points into? Obviously not, but at least imo 20 HP, 10 Stamina, 10 Weight and 10 Attack gives you pretty solid all-round spread for both combat and exploration at 50.

It might be useful for raids or the tower bosses, but due to the natural resistances most overworld pals have and dungeon bosses, i've found status effects with the poison and fire crossbows are king. I'd much rather survive a glancing blow but to each their own

I should probably also couch my opinion in that I am playing on normal, pals doing 4x damage to players while taking substantially less damage themselves on the hard setting felt a little overkill to me. If you're doing that much less damage at default, no amount of extra attack percentage is gonna make a meaningful difference any more.

I think a better way to ask this is that if I invest the point that would have gotten to atk into something else like hp and weight, would it be more beneficial? Cant really get a good measure of this being at early to mid game right now

4 into work speed, 4 into weight, 10 into stamina, everything else into HP. That's my preferred stat layout

Early on, you shouldn't be investing into Atk at all imo, you'll unlock much better weapons long before you're actually taking on notably stronger pals. What I've figured out for myself so far is 5 Stamina -> 10 Weight -> 10 HP -> 5 Stamina for the first 30 levels. After that you can distribute the points more along of where you feel comfortable with them

Weight around 700-800 is comfortable for most uses and transferring massive stacks are done via grappling hook. Stamina becomes less useful as well once you get flying mounts and the hook. So choose from hp or attack at that point but get at least 3000 hp in my opinion. Also work speed is beyond useless after you get to mid game with handicraft 2-4 pals

At least personally speaking I like to invest at least 5 points into it, though my current run uses 10. What the game doesn't really tell you is that the stamina bar always refills at the same speed regardless of how much stamina you have, so double stamina also gives you double the speed at which it recovers. I don't think you ever need more than 10 points though.

Noticed that too, good for dodge when fighting bosses

I put 4 points in attack early and regretted it

I'll just keep saying it: stamina, carry weight, and health. Leave everything else to the pals to deal with. Even with mounts, there are times when you're going to have to go on foot or get around in general (especially when using gliding) and you don't want to run out while being chased by something A Little Too Strong.
