It's worth using 3 to 4 gigaspheres to capture one beeguard. They farm honey so quickly you'll never be short of it.
Sorry for the really late reply. I couldn't find them where people said to look, near the queen and randomly found them near buildings in the south but didn't remember where by the time I saw this reply. If you didn't find beeguards yet because you have a life unlike me, I found the ultimate spot to farm them. The queenbee boss is on the island just north of the center island. Once you find the queenbee boss, the island directly northeast of it, has plenty of low level (21) queens with two guards. You'll find them on the highest plateaus on the north side in the warm climate. You can get there by going around the west side of the island and up to avoid the freezing temperature. While you are there, I suggest going back and forth exploring each level of plateau on the north. I not only found about 4 or 5 effigies but also about 10 eggs from normal to huge. So it's good for catching a beeguard and great for gathering other things.
