Beeguards are really the only source of honey?
Other than buying honey of course. Feel like it doesn't add up that they would make you use cake for breeding and need honey for the cake but allow breeding at such a low base level if honey only came from midgame level pals.

You can get them from capturing Cinnamoths or killing them

Thanks for the reply. Just found that out myself. But when I add one to farm, it says not right level. Have you been able to get one to produce honey? Because those guys come in 3s and do some major damage trying to catch them.

where do you even find the beeguards at?
Put the beegaurd in your ranch to get them passively

Nah, you can get it from Cinnamoths as well, if I recall correctly.

Hit them with a megaball and after they escape they won't do that attack anymore

Beeguard farming goes like this.
You find higher ground so they can't explode all over you.
You throw a monster at them for damage and when they are about to explode you summon your monster back into its ball.
If you manage to isolate one of them just do as much damage as possible and spam throw until youve capture them.

Man, just to make the cake it takes to spawn one egg, it took me 2 minutes of holding down the W with the assist of a pal with level 3 cooking/kindling. Between that and the pain of collecting bees, I feel like it's more work than entertaining.

Why would you sit there and hold a button? That's 4+ minutes you have to go do something else out in the world.

Skill? Issue, like my guy just run off and do your own thing while your Foxparks does its job

I suppose you don't but there sanity goes down very quick on that task and has to take a break. But I guess as long as they get it done eventually, better than wasting my time. Still collecting honey is a pain too. Think I'm going to level up a bit more before going after beeguards.

to be fair, looks like breeding is more lategame - endgame thing
when you can comfortably minmax your Pals
and then you will have already "automated" production of those cakes

A pal in your team can be summoned in your base and they'll never get tired or lose SAN from working. Just keep in mind you have to physically be in the circle around the edge for them to actually work.

Just wait until you get a level 4 kindling endgame dragon with a positive modifier to work speed. Mine got musclehead so it has -50% speed (and +30% attack) but it's still way faster than anything else I have so for the short time I'm sitting in my base waiting on some spheres or ammunition to finish crafting it's a decent boost to cooking or smelting.

I now know the bee queen doesn't farm honey because I got her from an egg. I guess it makes sense since queen bees only eat honey, they don't produce it. (I think)
