Low Dedicated Server FPS
Anyone know how to improve dedicated server FPS? As far as I can tell the cap is 60FPS but even then it rarely runs at that. If I'm around a variety of Pals, the server FPS is dipping to 32-34 FPS while my CPU is only at 10-20% utilization, the GPU is 30% or less, and there is >10GB free of RAM.

I'm not sure how to improve it, but your experience sounds similar to my own.

My friend rented an 8 slot nitrado server on launch day. Initially I did see the server fps bumping into 60, but spending most of the time a bit lower.
By the second day, the server fps was typically in the mid 20s, and rarely above 30.

The performance was bad enough that I ended up switching to single player for the time being.
The lag and desync with pal movement, or just looting items got to be such a headache.

I remember seeing a post regarding raising the ram the game would use as a server to help it but I haven't tried that. I think there's a big memory leak issue with this game right now or something though because after a day of running my server it also seems to drop FPS. If it's your own server I think just a healthy amount of restarts will prevent some of the dipping.

tell your players inside your server stop spamming building outside their circle base area,4 days i observe most because some stupid player spam building ♥♥♥♥ everywhere.

And most important do 4 hours cycle restart (since they got memory leak bug) at server hope it helps

The game currently (1.2.0) has a substantial memory leak. It plays until it runs out of RAM no matter how much you throw at it. Until the memory leaks are fixed you have to do scheduled saves/reboots. There are quite a few threads explaining the steps to automate the process.

Just to be clear, we're experiencing this with a dedicated server with just me and my partner, we only have buildings in 2 locations with hardly any duplicate objects besides 2 total forges/food baskets/bed sets and the walls for buildings.

Make sure you submit the bug in the feedback forum that's pinned. We need more visibility through their proper bug channel for this to be prioritized. I've submitted mine.

I'm also seeing the memory leak but our server has enough RAM to make it a few days before needing a restart. It will start with around 18 and then make it's way up to 37 after 48 hours. That's about as long as I've let it go before restarting it.
What I'm curious about is if there anything I can do to speed up the server FPS? I have ours fps-tick-rate set to 90 but even if I'm the only one on, it doesn't reach 90. I've added the 3 threading launch parameters but we still have crap server FPS and the CPU usage is very low. Like 4 percent (12 cores, 24 threads) which is less than a single thread. I have 4 threads dedicated to this application.
Anyone else have any ideas for improving performance?

Anxiously waiting for someone knowledgeable to answer this one. Can't find anything about it.

Same. If we can find a solution to this it would be a game changer for multiplayer.

I just saw a server running at 10 fps, and tossing out a nitewing had it T-posing and sliding around. lmao
From what I can tell its something to do with building foundations and walls, I built a giant tower and it lowered my server fps from 55 to 30 until I broke it, maybe some calculation for stability is being done inefficiently or something is my guess.

i think it's just any structure acts as an anchor and keeps that region "live"

on a fresh server with 8 people server fps was a solid 60fps, a few days later 20-40fps even if im alone

goes beyond just having bases up, it also applies to random crafting stations people build in the middle of nowhere to craft emergency supplies

you can consider every "live regions" to be a whole separate player, that ramps up pretty fast, suddenly your 8 person server is having to crunch 60+ live regions

Nope, not in in our case. Just two bases, no benches or anything anywhere else in the server, less than half of all of the device's resources in use. Neither base was particularly large, maybe around 100 total objects between the two bases. 30 FPS.

I can get 60 fps, but the thing is that my server is my home server opened into reverse tunnel vps with 14 xeon core + 64gb of ram... yet it still take 27gb of ram as game server alone
