Plus things like Uncommon Cloth Armor require Ancient Civilization Parts to craft and repair. At least drop the repair requirement down to only Cloth.
Finally i'm not the only one bothered by this repairing feature !
Besides the dura, one thing shocked me :
The hunger lost by the pet you are mounting when attacking ! Each attack used removes a DECENT chunk of hunger, which results in feeding the pet over and over .. I feel like grinding too much food only to enjoy riding and exploring ..
Hopefully later down the line we'll be able to adjust durability in the world settings menu (or even turn it off entirely). They already have plenty of world customization options, so having an option/slider for durability too would be nice.
For example the metal axe does double damage and has double durability over the stone axe, this is an x4 durability increase.
I have gone thru many fights with no armour durability loss at all.
Again, armor is the last resort that stops you from ending the fight because of a bad hit from a monster ATK rating. It should very rarely lose durability at all. If you're losing a lot of durability or breaking during a fight, you're getting hit way more than you should be.
My armor loose dura even when my shield is up.
As for getting hit and losing armor durability as result, learn to dodge and use the environment to your advantage, some skills get blocked by the trees, some by solid objects that can't be broken or damaged, there are only few skills that pass through everything, so don't just stand there like a chump and get hit.
As for weapons not lasting long, you're playing the game wrong, the weapons are your support tools, the main damage dealers are the pals, you're there just to juggle between their cooldowns. :D
