Lucky>Alpha>/<Breeding
Alright so deep dive here, Ive captured a LOT of lucky pals and I have their alpha variants, and the things to note is that lucky pals in general have better stats then their alpha counterpart. Breeding is definitely something that gives a pal better passives and better stats but there is a min/max stat pool (HP/ATK/DEF) and move pool (Moves from the 2 parents). The move pool will change after leveling up. But heres what you should know about lucky vs alpha vs breeding

1. Stats- Stats are randomly generated, they each have their min/max properties so even if you get a lucky pal their stats might be worse then their normal/alpha variant.

2. Passives- Your lucky pal might have trash passives.

3. Lucky Pals have 1 new move thats different then their Alpha/Normal variant (Imo they are strong hard hitting moves, but the CD (Cool down) might be a drawback).

4. End game lucky pals (Level 40ish?) are always level 50, or at least thats what ive been seeing.

5. You can breed lucky pals and obtain the lucky trait but the size will stay the same.

6. If your looking for size, Lucky pal sizes are the same as alphas Except for jormuntide. . . that big F###er

7. Legendary Alpha Pals- Legendary alpha pals HP pool is basically in the 10K+ range, and their stats are either on par w/ or greater then any of the end game (And I mean, the pals that you encounter at level 40-50) lucky pals. So they are in a league of their own and imo the strongest pals in the game.

NO as MUCH as I wish you cannot breed TWO alphas for a child boasting the same stats and size as an alpha. 2 alphas make a NON alpha pal at normal size. 2 LEGENDARY pals make 1 NORMAL sized pal (Because they are alpha and are much larger).

How do you even pick up an alpha to assign them to the breeding ranch? The center of my Jormuntide is too high for my player character to lift.

For jormuntide, you need to reach his head area and jump and spam F key and eventually you will grab him.

the real question is can alphas spawn with lucky, and if they do, does the size bonus stack

No, no they cannot. You COULD make an alpha lucky with hacks but they are specified to not get lucky traits.

Why Do you even want Lucky? Its by far worse than other traits...

If your having them in your team that's free 15% attack and if not thats free 15% work speed. If you even read the post I even said that it might have ♥♥♥♥ passives so you obviously didn't read.

So for now there's no apparent way to breed large or lucky creatures (with the stars indicator)
That's really unfortunate, I was hoping that breeding lucky's at least would create more lucky's with better abilities.

Kinda sucks that it's pretty easy to breed normal Pals to the point they're superior to the ones that are supposed to be "rare" and "powerful"

They will have the lucky trait and the passives of the parents, heir stats might be higher or lower because there is a minmax. So technically you can get a "Lucky" pal only in passive form. The only thing that changes is the size. Which imo if anything, should be like pokemon where you can breed and get a shiny. But then all you would need is 1 lucky pal of that type and then you could just breed to get more "actual" luckys instead of passives only.

I agree, specially since we don't have any other physical variation like colours.. which Shiney Pokemon have.

The only physical difference of lucky's being their size, takes a lot away from them if you cannot breed that into their offspring.
More so if breeding can so easily surpass natural born lucky's.

Hopefully the Devs will figure some way to improve that over time, when they have the time to focus on such things ofc.
Even if they just have to improve the value of natural Lucky's by giving them say, 4 guaranteed but random gold traits or something.. that would be a small plus at least.

Here's what you need to do to min-max a Pal:

01. Check the list of Pals to know which one you want.
02. Check the list of parents of the Pal you want.
03. Capture multiple parents until you find the ones with the Passive Skill you want.
04. Breed the parents until the Pal you want comes with the Passive Skills you want.
05. Use fruits to give the Pal you want the Active Skills you want.
06. Get 116 copies of the Pal you want and infuse until reach 4 stars.
*07. Use souls to level up all 4 stats to max.

What is the perfect Pal? The perfect Pal have all 4 Passive Skills you want, with all 3 Active Skills you want, at level 50 with 4 Stars. IF you managed to get that with the rare version of the Pal (rare, alpha, sparkling, whatever the name you want to give) then you have the literal definition of perfect Pal.

Doing this takes too much time, too much effort... Instead I suggest two things:
01. Have the closest from the perfect and be fine with it.
02. Use a mod called Paledit to edit the Pal to be what you want:

*Edit: Forgot this one.

This is a cool mod but I played so much I already literally have a maxed stated jetragon.

Something I've noticed recently after trying my luck with breeding an anubis and jormutide with lucky, legend, musclehead, ferocious is that when one of the parents has the luck trait the resulting child always has the trait that is specific to the pal eg. earth emperor for anubis and lord of the sea for jormuntide. I cant seem to breed the pal specific trait out when lucky is present in one of the parents. Anybody else found a way around this? Even when neither parent has earth emperor it still always has this trait. Unless im super unlucky but I doubt it I've been breeding all the best ♥♥♥♥ for the past month and havent run into this issue until now. Maybe recent update messed with it?

Yes, a recent updated changed it, then they changed back a couple of days after. So is back how it was before.

That was a bug, it has now been resolved. Any new eggs will not have the "pal specific trait" on them unless the parents did.
