Game wont close. PC frozen.
Has anyone else experienced an issue where, after exiting a game on Steam, it continues to run indefinitely? This eventually leads to my PC freezing and requires a manual restart. I'm curious to know if this is a common problem and if there are any known solutions. Thanks in advance for any insights!

I had this happened yesterday but the game did close after around a minute.
The game IS in Early Access, so you have to expect bugs and crashes right now. Just report it/send crash report if it generates to help the developers

If it's freezing, you should build a campfire.
On a serious note though, some ppl def report that same issue, I dunno how to fix that though, it works fine for me. Maybe just kill it in task manager?

Game being early access is no excuse. People like you are the reason gaming industry has gone to what it is... too many gullible fools to take money away from.

When you where in the game, did you exit to the game's title and from there you click exit game? If not then that may be the reason?!?!

Also there was a couple of hours ago an issue with game's Steam cloud save if that may be the case

I play single game and I didn't have any issue as that.

p.s. Also be sure the game is downloaded into your secondary hard disk as it has been noticed that if games are saved in main hard disk, it creates some issues.
p.s.s. Just my point of view and thoughts

This is exactly what happened to me last night, I exited the game, saw the game running even though I had closed it, and realised that my pc started to freeze without being able to restart it from windows.

Same issue here. I exited from Steam because forcing it to exit through Steam didn't work. I then exited Steam through the Taskbar and it said it closed Palworld. After that, the PC started acting really weird (Start Menu not responsive, Taskbar not displaying notifications when clicked) It then came to a halt and froze when I was trying to click Shutdown. I had to hold down the power button.

I have been having the bug wherre you can not close the game.

While typing this post my computer locked up and froze from the game being forced to be on for so long.

This is forcing people like me to always have the game running, always moving my play time up, and always boosting your concurrent players.

The current only known way to stop the game running is to force shutdown your computer with the power button.

Stopping prgram through steam, stopping program through tast manager, force closing steam, restarting, unplugging your computer, none of these work to stop the game from running, when you turn on your PC you will have the game still running on steam.

This is the most malware thing ive ever seen in a game and i hope the devs are aware how bad this issue is. There are many people only with the game stuck runbing and eating away at their computer stability until they lock up like mine. This is unacceptable from a game no matter what.

Cloud save is also a possible culprit. I should turn it off because my game locks up every time i play.

No. Haven't had this issue even once. Crashing? For sure, but that ended completely (100%) when i added the suggested "-dx12" to game launch options. Though i have 64GB of ram, so maybe my system just tanks a lot of issues.. Who knows. Also my system is tuned enough to be concidered stable 24/7, so that might also play a part.

Closing it in task manager doesn't work?

other causes would be the issue with graphic card update patch. if anyone had recently download the new patch for their graphic card and found out some issues, by backrolling to a previous patch it worked.
