Is there a way to release a Pal other than selling or butchering them?
Kinda wish you didn't have to do either, both feel pretty scummy to me. I know you can use some Pals to enhance others, but I wish I could just simply release them.

Maybe I missed something but is there an actual way of doing this without harming them?
Thanks.

Press TAB, go to party and press R to drop. I just tried it. It does tell you that other players/guilds can pick them up. Hopefully they dissipate. Have to head to work. Thanks all!

in the pals menu, select the pal and hit "r" this drops them. they have to be actively in your party though.

From a practical standpoint, you have to put the Pal into your rotation, summon, go through the butchering sequence then start all over. Might as well just roam around killing and get the XP plus the drops. Have Flopie (I think) picking up drops and you end up saving time and a heck of a lot more fun (imo).
You have to do the same to release them regardless, as for the putting them into your team.

As for "just roam around killing", you get LESS XP than capturing, plus capturing gives the same drops anyways.

And, as for butchering, you at least get the food from them, not sure if you get an additional set of drops. If you did, that's even more incentive to capture, not kill.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

If you butcher Syndicate Thug Pal you get this:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3144566286
so maybe you get drops from animal Pals too (didn't butcher any yet to test it)

Yep, selling them to the slave trader is the most humane solution.

This is so sad, I get selling some rarer ones for some money, but not being able to just send them off kinda sucks. Hope they add that option at least.
The moment you captured them, their brain get rewrote entirely. So no, you cant just release them back into the wild! HIGHLY IRRESPONSIBLE!

once high enough level you will need to feed the same type pals to rank them up best to save them for that
