He got stuck on a rock on my first few days in the game, so I killed him. I've never seen him again. Does the traveling merchant not respawn?

Mine did the same thing, but I left him alone and he eventually disappeared while I wasn't looking.

The other day, I was exploring another area and I think I saw a different Traveling Merchant who got gotted by hostile NPCs who were themselves getting attacked by wild Pals

seems once they dead they don't respawn atm which is annoying when i walked along a path to find him already dead from thugs, not seen him since

I haven't even seen the travelling merchant. I've been fast travelling to the small settlement for all my capitalistic needs. Did find the black market merchant, but he currently doesn't seem to do anything the others don't do.

I think the Pals the black market merchant sells are stronger/rarer.

He is a random encounter at varios areas. Imagine fallout. How specific areas just have stuff happen. This game does that. Ive ran into the merchant 7 times now, but sadly all but once he has been killed by wolves, thugs, or something else.

You can find a static traveling merchant and tame him, bam, a handy trader at base.
