Report a translation problem
I have the same problem (strictly the opposite problem).
I tried to transfer a world hosted by a friend to a dedicated server, but when my friend logs into the dedicated server, they are recognized as a new player.
As you can imagine, your friend's character data is "0000...sav", and when you play as a guest, new data (probably tied to your Steam ID) will be generated.
Data migration by renaming character data was also not possible.
It's probably linked to the binary file that exists in the upper folder.
