Indie Devs are the Future of Gaming
Look at this. An indie dev makes the best pokemon like game. Meanwhile the triple crap studios are worried of how you subscribe to their ^^service^^ meanwhile indie studios let you purchase a game which is on top drm free as well. Praise the indie studios

Indie devs have pretty much carried gaming for the last fifteen years. Everything remotely decent has come out of non-AAA studios, while the big names just endlessly recycle old IP and garbage mechanical templates for easy money from gullible fans.

Just wait another five years, until the tools exist to sufficiently streamline gamedev work to enable a single user to build a AAA-quality game from the ground up... in the same time or less than what it takes a professional team to make one now.

They always were. Indie games are the games I play the most. Clear exception are japanese studios like fromsoft and capcom which still make great games. Maybe cdpr too even tho they have the potential to go down if the next game stinks.

Western studios are all dead inside. Beth, Bliz, EA, ubi. Even rockstar despite them creating good stuff... every 10 years. Incredibly garbage business tactics (for the player, not for the shareholders) everywhere.

I can’t agree more fellas

Agree

Look what larian studios acomplished with Dvinity saga and Baldurs Gate 3

CDPR with the witcher and cyberpunk 2077

No extra launchers, no layers and layers of DRM everywhere, no 3rd party accounts required, no predatory anti-consummer models

Now this dev from Palworld is teaching all big AAA corpo how things are done.

Not like ubisoft who says you sholdn't own any game and get ready for cloud gaming so they can shutdown any game whenever they want.
Or capcom retroactively adding DRM to old games to stop mods and see how much they can get away with it and control the things you do with the games you buy.

This. The past fifteen years have been a total disappointment in the AAA space. The titles I really remember are all Indies. Hades, Cult of the Lamb, Risk of Rain 2 etc.

Well cloud gaming will always be a gimmick anyway. Locally you will always have more options. Ubisoft talked about digital purchases over physical but seriously ubisoft is a sinking ship anyway they won’t exist in the future at least not in this form. Ownership will always be a part of gaming

AAA gaming is mostly overpriced trash. There are very few big games I'm interested in. Indie makes up like 95% of my wishlist atm.

Ironically the best pokemon game doesn't even fit within the game genre. But I guess that tells you something about stale genres.

Lol pokemon games are ♥♥♥♥ rn but I’d still play an older pkmn title over this. This game is better than pokemon legends of arceus tho i’ll tell you that

Oh well i hope so they seem very optimistic bout the transition to digital and im pretty sure cloud gaming as well, the goal is turning games into a service, pay a monthly fee, a subscription etc make it like cable with different tiers etc. Ubicratsoft i hope they fail miserably.

Yup, souless, crashgrab, mediocre, only indies dare to do something different, innovate and do things with passion, look at so many failures or meh AAA games from past 3 years cuz they only care 4 money.

Pretty sure selling you overpriced digital games are on their plan as well. Well my money gets invested somewhere else anyway and subscriptions for gaming won’t succeed like movies does. It’s a different group and movies get consumed passively

Yup, imagine this world where ppl would have to pay $70-80 for a digital version that can be shutdown in the future if the publisher wants to (hey ubisoft is doing that right now) ohh wait you dont have to imagine, we are already there!
but i agree, you cant consume games like you do with movies on netflix, amazon etc so they can't push cloud gaming just like that but i bet they r eager to try.
