Intel Arc a770 possible solution for frequent random crashes
Rightclicking on Palworld in my library, selecting properties - General then adding
"-dx12" without the quotation marks into launch options stopped the constant crashes immediately for me.
If you experience the same with an Intel graphics card it might work for you, too.

Have the Arc 770FE and constant freezes.
If your tip helps I'm a very happy Paler :).

I have a couple of graphics glitches, long lines suddenly appearing straight from on entity to my position. Other than that it runs fine. I am happy.

Performance is fine. 60+ FPS constant @1080p. 40+ @1440x3440.

Highest texture setting requiers ~10 GB VRAM. So sorry if you have the 8 GB version :(. With 770 Founders Edition and 16 GB VRAM absolut smoth :).

First game I'm realy happy that I invested the money to get the FE :D.

Intel arc has good specs for the dollar but as people noted. Just like AMD notoriously stumbled for it's first 10 years, then got caught up and fine and sometimes did better on ps5 games.

Intel arc is having to catch up to all the 20 years of games developing on drivers. Then hopefully catching up.

ON a flip side to the monkey's paw, you merely making a post announcing you play this game, and that the card exist might get the devs to buy one, and try to work to bugfix it.

Consumer or not, we all lose or get price jacked by nvidia if we have 1 option. But we might also want to make sure all 3 companies can have driver support and be on the ears. Nvidia is price jacky but reliable at 90% of market and 99% of ai.

Amd often gives good vram even if it doesn't show up on the gpu benchmarks sites. (Think the guy is notoriously paid for a hate boner lol)

And Intel is.. Still making progress very fast compared to amd.

But yeah, you're pretty much a "unofficial beta tester". But by leaving a post, you probably spread awareness and if you message intel to ask for support, it might help grow support for it or third party awareness.

Nvidia attempts to charge 200-700$ for 27$ of +8-16 gb vram btw. But as long as they're the only graphics card that works for everything (Amd works for 90%. Only Nvidia is pain free with cuda/ai..). They're gonna price jack.

@Ruke just as long as you stay with Windoof. Lunix AMD/Intel >>> Nvidia any time.
But for Win you are right. NVidia has a big knowlage advantage. Even if Intel made iGPUs since a long time. So they don't have to start from zero.
For their first true GPU in years it's a very solid but not perfect roll :).
About 65-70 FPS constant @1080p is very playeble. 1440x3440 around 45 FPS is OKisch. Not perfect but for the price realy good. Should be on par with 3060/4060 from NVidia and 6700 from AMD.
(Ryzen 3900x, 16gb ram, no OCing).
And the only true problem is solved with Sockninjas Tip :). -dx12 stoped ALL crashes for me! Know problem of Arc.

@Duplissi FE / LE don't care. Everyone knows what is ment.

Ehh, linux has really solid server hosting / techie options. But for a gaming rig i still just like the convivence of 90% of most consumer grade softwares.

I do get the 130$ windows price. But i'm a parts scalper and could re use windows from my old laptops so i didn't have to linux or pay 100$ for a license. And if i needed to, there were places to get it for 7-13$ :).

But yeah i mean. Whatever side people are on. I use nvidia because i code and need cuda for ai / projects / wanted for sd.

But side or not. Nvidia is very blatantly willing to milk any consumer if they're left the only market. If people are just gamers, you should be wary of driver compatability. But it's a thing that should improve in time for blue, already got mostly solved from the bumps with amd(?).

And in 3-10 years from now, intel might be a solid thing to glance at.

But for now, it's kinda beta testy, but we shouldn't push it under either. A trio of competitors is much healthier for consumers/ anti price jacking than a monopoly.

Three companies that could make in demand ai chips or gaming gpu chips could be great too. The 4090 is ridicolously overpriced at 1600$, then went up to 2500$. Compared to the 3060ti i got for 220$ used, it would be 8x the price for 4x the fps. And yet i already hit out my 75 fps and feel happy but worry about the heat.

But.. If i wanted to future proof my computer against a ps6 or Xbox11.. It already sucks home pcs previously had superior specs with every generation prior. Then NVIDIA price scalped us, became a trillion dollar company, and declared record profits.

Reliable cards but F monopolies.

Sounds like you guys know some good tricks for intel cards though. :)

as for the topic, i kinda wanted to get the a770 16gb just to tinker with it but it's still kinda a leap of faith as i already have a 3080 10gb and 500dollars could go into 5090 lol

3080+ are totaly different ligas!

A770 vs 3060 vs 6700 by performance.
For price with 16gb VRAM:
A770 ~340,-€ atm
7600xt ~360,-€ (slower)
4060ti ~460,-€ (slightly faster but not enough to justify a 40% higher price).
Don't compare aples to oranges. Or better 350,-€ hardware to 1500,-€ hardware.
That's like comparing a Ford Car with an top tier BMW or Mercedes.

Aka if you don't need the VRAM your 3080 is still faster.

Performance/Price Intel+Amd >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> NVidia!
And personal I don't have to much problems with my Arc. The one (Palworld dx11) was super easy to fix. And I don't get it why they didn't use DX12 as default anyway.

And well ... try to use several monitors with different resolutions / frequenzys at NVidia ... good luck *rofl*. NVidia is not without BUGs!

I mean the 4060ti would be about 30% faster than the 770 according to gpu benchmarks. But you're not wrong as pointed out. Nvidia is charging +100$ for 27$ of 8 gb vram.

a base 8 gb 4060 ti is 340$ on sale right now and faster. But the 16 gb model is 440$.. And 100$ for 8 gb of vram is ridicolous.

Even though nvidia actually does often beat on fps/$.. It always performs dreadfully on the vram department. A major pain point in ai was that unoptimized ai could often use like 16 gb and they wouldn't sell things.

Thankfully things like tile vae for stable diffusion cut down vram usage 4x from 16 gb to 4.6 gb. But i have heard it has been a painpoint. And it's basically just +1 gen ram too. Ddr5 used to be the ram of the future in a 1080ti. Now it's the base ram in your computer.

It is almost literally just +1 gen ram. but even ddr5 vs ddr4 ram, even at 2x the frequency vs +5% more performance for 40% more cost is debatable.

Nothing wrong with having people buy. The more people on each side, the less nvidia price jacks and the more options consumers get. Just as long as you find fixes to get it working or driver fixes. Everyone consumer loses in a monopoly.
