Pals aren't transporting Goods to Containers
For some reason pals are picking up items but rather then taking them to a chest, any chest, they instead take a few steps then toss the item on the floor and walk away. Its even more of a nightmare around my ranch which has a chest set up for wool and they instead load it up with stone and wood, then when they put wool in the chest they remove the stone and toss it on the ground in a ridiculous sized piles. If I fill each slot with wool they just stand at the chest and do nothing until I empty a slot.

Has anybody else run into this issue?

I had the same issue, but I found that Pals with Lv. 2 Transporting seem to get on a bit better. Are you using Pals with Transport Lv. 1? I'm interested to see whether it helps or not.

Yep indeed, they often drop stuff and leave it laying around. Another issue I've run into is that if you build your base on or near a cliff, they will either fall down the cliff or get stuck in walls, then eventually starve until you take them back and throw them back out for work.

I noticed that if you have chests nearby and they have the item they carry in multiple of them, they tend to get confused where to put it in.
Also make sure the mining / logging / ranch / farm areas arent too close to eachother as then the pals thend to interfere with eachother and get stuck a lost and mix chests.

I really wish they'd just take the items to whatever chest the stack of those items is already in. My ranch items keep getting taken EVERYWHERE. They also get left behind in huge piles. I'll come back to my base and there'll be hundreds of wool and eggs (though less eggs, they seem to be MOSTLY smart enough to take the eggs to the feed box they belong in) piled up inside the ranch.

It'd be really awesome if they just knew where the stack of the item they're carrying is and went to the chest holding that stack.

So, here's the thing.. You're probably using the sheep to transport, right? So, sheep also have a farming ability, which is for wool. However the game is coded, it's made so that when a ranch is down, the sheep prioritize farming for the wool. Every once in a while, they will start moving something again but then probably say "OMG, I need to go make wool again," drop what they're carrying if they didn't finish the delivery already, then go make more wool. The ranch is a complete distraction for sheep and any other farming Pal. This game is intended for you to put down multiple "bases" but on official, we can't because of base limits per server.
That being said, if you're not on official, you can set up your ranch at a different base and it should work perfectly fine since it is not coded well to work in a main base, yet. If you are playing on official. You need to dedicate certain periods of time that you want wool, then dedicate everything to farming and looting the wool. After you got a bunch, you will want to destroy the ranch again to get your Pals to work normally again. I just build it when I need it and destroy it when I don't. That's the best way on official servers until this game is patched more, as sheep and other farmers appear to prioritize farming over other tasks.. Just like when you have an "ignite" Pal out and they are non-stop trying to ignite anything you have.. if a torch went out on the other side of your base, they're going to run and get stuck constantly until they light that torch or you destroy it. Once you pay attention to how Pals prioritize tasks, you'll understand the issues and can then try to go about work-arounds until more patches are out.

I solve this by putting appropriate storage containers immediately adjacent to each production building. Farms get a feeder, ranch gets a feeder and a storage container, etc.
