I'm looking for a good place for my Main Base.

I'm looking for a new spot for my Main Base as currently I just put down my base at the bottom of the first Hawk Statue where you start out... I thought have those little ruins would help with protection, but not the case as it causes the path finding for my Pals so trouble a bit.

It does have Rocks and Trees nearby to farm for Stone and Wood and there's Paldium Ores to farm Paldium Fragments to make the Spheres.

However, there's not a lot of space to put down everything I need and I'm quickly filling up.

I have on Base set as a Fast Travel point for farming Coal (location: -704, 630) and another for Mining a lot of Ores for Ingot (spot is -76, 316) so sadly I have to break the Coal one for now and look for a new spot. Tough to find a Coal farming spot close to a Quick Travel point.

Kinda wish we could make 4 or 5 Bases instead of 3 in total.

I'm looking for a spot that I can easily farm Stone, Wood, and Paldium Fragments, Maybe even some Ores like the starting spot. But, also a big open space so I can place more facilities like the Breeding Station and Ranch. And I don't have to worry too much of Wild Pals wandering in.

Anyone found a spot like that yet?

I'm considering making one of my Bases on that outlet to the southwest of Windswept, down past that giant sea skeleton: there's a good amount of space for building what I'd need, but I don't remember what all the nearby resources are.

I farm Paldium fragments by teleporting to the starting marker and working my way down the cliffs to the one by the beach to the north. Get 100+ every trip. No need to have a base nearby.

Your base is itself a quick travel point. It took me a while to notice that too, but you can travel to and from it.

Those ruins are a beginners trap.... one I fell for too. I'd move but I got over 10k lbs of stuff that'd be a nightmare to transport over long distances

If you can get the 10k in a single box next to the palbox, it becomes easier. Deploy a box at the other end, pick up, teleport (not blocked by overweight), deposit.

ok so quick tips based on my short experience so far:

find a place that is big and flat, nice to look at, and surrounded by cliffs for protection against raids.
resources nearby is not needed, because:
- you can place infinite stone + tree mining structures
- the pals are not farming metal by themselves you have to do it manually (starter tip: catch a boar pal, mount it and use the charge on nodes, you gewt massive amounts fast from all nodes, stone, coal, paldium etc). they ALWAYS farm stones forever if there are someand ignore metal nodes
use the second base when you reach that point, as a mobile quick travel point, place it where you wanna farm stuff, like dungeon, boss, rare resource.
place the storage boxes near the resources in the base instead of all in a big pile somewhere
one thing to be careful, don't place your base where aggressive pals roam around, it can be very annoying.

There's a very nice large open area on the island to the west of the starting one. Got some rocks in the open and then forest surrounding.

I built mine in the ruins near the coast on the way to Katress? During raids, the either come down the stair where the eagle statue is or from the front or side between the ruin walls. Its a nice sort of gate/blockade for raids. I also only use the 2nd pal portal as a sort of quick travel to base, then, when I travel back, i destroy the pal portal.

Coordinates guys? So I know where actually to look.

Also, I'm using Custom Settings so I can drop Rocks and Trees faster than my Pals can farm from the Tree and Rock nodes and I have increased drop rate so I can get over hundred Stone and Woods in a few seconds.

I know. I used my Third Base as a Quick Travel to farm those. But, in order for me to move I have to destroy this point and then look for a new spot then transport all my stuff from the old Main Base to the new one.

Then come back to where I found the Coal and place it again, because you're stuck with only 3 Bases so you only have three spots for Quick Travel.

I built my base at the base of the ruins on the beach where you wash up. It's got walls on three sides and a cliff on the fourth with a set of stair leading into the ruins proper. No pals spawn in the area and the ones that spawn nearby are the sheep, chickens, and cats. Haven't been raided yet, but I'm only base level 8 so I don't know if that means anything. Not a lot of resources nearby, but since I can just teleport in and out I don't really see it as a problem.

Raids are completely random. You might want to disable them; they range from easy to base destroying unstoppable monsters.

The spot is right between a Broncherry and a Lunaris Boss. Didn't know there was another Hawk Statue nearby. Really wish they pop up on the Map when you have the area fully shown on your Map be exploring.

I'll check that spot out.

FYI Pals will farm metal by themselves, but only if they have level 2 mining.

I know you can travel TO your base but I don't think there's a way to travel FROM it.
