Palwork bug - Kindling pets wont work, they wont work on furnaces

I have 5 kindling pets out right now in my camp, and 0 of them will work on the furnace. Sometimes when i start ingots they "start" working before immediately quitting and unlisting from the furnace.

I found this bug as well, even if you grab one of your Pals and drop it near the workstation they won't be assigned to work. I tried with the Campfire and the Primitive Furnace.

I've only managed to use a Pal in these stations if I release one of my Pals that's on my party which completely defeats the point of having Pals in base.

Only fix I have found so far for this is to close the game down completely (go back to windows) and log back in, that fixes it for me.

Is your Furnace too hot? They won't work on it if its too hot. You need to assign an Ice Pal to cool it down.

depends on the place ment of the furnace. i had that problem aswell. i had 3 furnaces on theouter edge of my camp, and the palswith kindling didn't work them. so i broke them down and placed them closer to the palbox, and now they work fulltime. so maybe replace them closer to that?

Get pals that specialize in it and not the other stuff on the base. I put the food close to their place of work as well so they don't walk too far away. Generally ends up working for me. Mine prioritize kindling and then cooking afterwards so far. I'm using the lil lava pals and then the cat one for all my needs and it's been working out.

also make sure there is enough pathing space to reach the tool.. sometimes they wont work on them if they dont like the spacing. this goes for any of the workable benches

Make sure crafting stations aren't too close to walls or other objects. If you have them inside a building place them away from the walls a bit, if they're outside try to keep a decently clear area around them.

I ran into this as well. Placing stuff at least 1 foundation width inside the circle seems to work best.

Yes, a global issue seems to be placement. The breeding pen similarly stops working depending on its location.
