Breeding question

Does anyone understand how it works? I saw a specific breeding pair up of relaxaurus and sparkit making relaxaurus lux. So i tried that out and it worked. Then I saw another saying basically vanwyrm+ice pal= vanwyrm cryst. I tried this and got Fenglope. I tried again to see if i somehow swapped eggs or something somewhere and it came up the same. Is there something I'm missing?

I want to add a cursed question that was brought up when I was playing with friends. Can pals breed with captured humans? Can captured humans breed with each other?

Definitely cursed. I haven't checked, but everything I've seen says no.
Realistically the humans don't seem all that useful. I'll have to find an isolated merchant to see if they still sell stuff. Then i'll find a use for them apart from selling them into someone else's service.

The only thong I have noticed is if you put two of the same monster the egg is the same. 2 sheep make a sheep baby.
