Sad I didn't read this before forcing my xbox friend to buy the game.
I googled first and found statements that says it's cross-platform.
When he downloaded the "preview" on xbox was only 6gb and that just triggered me.
Then when he tries to join my game it says version mismatch.
We thought it was because the "preview" and the menu offering hims to buy the game, so
I went to the xbox game buy page and there it says nothing about version but it does about space required, wich stated 16.*gb (like as on steam).
So he bought it..
no difference, uninstalled, reinstalled.. always v0.1.0.0
Not blaming, just pointing on this so others don't fall on the same error.
And about what ml1201 asked for: on some games you can go to properties > betas > and select earlier versions to test, but this is not the case don't know why.
I dont have this game on Steam and with the recent reviews of mass hacking in multiplayer, unlikely that I would buy it in the first place, so I am not sure if you are able to rollback the update on Steam like you can do with countless of other games.
But you will "always" have this problem as on Steam the developers can update as much they want, on XBox the developers can't as they use a mandatory date and time to update games WHAT F SUCKS.
Now the "Game Preview" means nothing more that the game is in "Early Access", its XBox way to say the game is in early access. So if you get the game and its just 6GB, you are downloading a trail version of the game, not the full game. If it says "Game Preview", you're downloading the full game.
You are able to play with your friends, does not matter what platform you play from as long it is on the PC. So if you use the XBox app it works just fine, but it wound cause of the darn version mismatches you get "each and every time" the developers decide to update the game on Steam. Then you have to wait days / weeks before XBox allows the developer to update it on their platform, and then you probably still cant play at all as in the mean time the developers pushed new updates to Steam, what are not included with the update on XBox. So more then not you're always getting this version mismatch.
@themauro if you already looked at the beta section of the game and it had no earlier version listed, then you're simply out of luck. Its up to the developers to decide if they grant the players to downgrade the game version, and with the amount of hacking happening right now, you're most likely not even able to downgrade as they are forcing the bugs out of the game.
Just a shame.... Would like to play with my friend on their server, but simply are unable to due to the XBox update policies. F XBox seriously.
