Official Servers and Multiplayer
Hello everyone,

I have some concerns regarding the official servers, game integrity, and the risk of wasting my investment in the game.

Currently, I am hesitant to invest a lot of time into an official server for a few reasons. If the server remains inactive for a certain period, then everyone's progress will be lost. Furthermore, the maximum number of players on a server is 32, and the amount of rubber-banding, lag, delay, and sync issues have made it clear that the online features need a lot of work. While I don't mind having 32 people in the game world, if the server becomes overcrowded, it will require more open servers of better quality.

I want to play online, but I cannot remember the server I last played on, and the "recent server" option does not display my last server. I spent eight hours playing, and all of my progress was lost. This is a significant problem that needs to be addressed.

Although playing the game alone is possible, I am more interested in enjoying it with other players, making new friends, and having fun together. I really wish the multiplayer mode could be improved to make the time spent playing the game worthwhile. It seems unreasonable that all progress made in 168 hours of server inactivity could be lost.

Unfortunately the game just came out and is in early access. I feel your pain though. I spent a lot of time in a server just to have the server wipe. At the main menu you can click "News" and it does say that they are aware of a bug that "wipes the save of solo and multiplayer servers". With that being said, your progress being saved is quite the gamble at the moment, even in solo worlds. I don't think anyone anticipated there to be over 1 million concurrent players. Hopefully it gets fixed soon. We shall see :sothappy:

I never thought that the game would be this popular. I had my eyes set on it, hoping that maybe 10 to 20,000 people, and at most 50,000 people would consider playing. However, to my surprise, the game blew up on the first day with around 300,000+ players, and now there are over 1 million players!

I hope that the developers are working really hard to fix any bugs and glitches, and also improve the multiplayer experience. I would love to play this game with other players and have a good time together. However, for now, I'll stick to single player mode since the multiplayer mode is too buggy for me.

Despite all the issues, this game is great and has a lot of potential. Most games in EA have issues, but I wish them good luck. Congratulations on the success!

yes, Im totally agree with you. This is weird. It's not an online game. Why don't they design it more like Fallout 4? everything in you ID even structure. kinda sad

I had a great time playing the game yesterday, even though I was initially hesitant about buying it since I use an old computer. However, the game is well optimized and I appreciate the developers for that.

While I enjoyed the game, there were some issues like rubberbanding, lag, sync issues and freezes that forced me to restart the client. Sometimes the servers were full, and I couldn't even join.

Today, I woke up, had my coffee, and did some errands before launching the game again, only to realize that I couldn't find the server I had been playing on before. Although I was lenient about the game's bugs, this is a major problem that needs to be fixed.

I hope that the developers will fix these issues and improve the multiplayer experience so that players from around the world can play together without any problems and have lots of fun!

noones forcing you to play official. Whats wrong with community servers other than being slightly less convenient? better ping, better stability, admins. The pros far outweigh the cons for now imo.

So i had a server i rented from gportal but their servers are complete garbage so i had tremendous issues even logging on half the time. They prolly fixed it by now but it irritated me enough for the first 2 weeks that i finally cancelled my server and moved on. I jumped on an official server yesterday and built a base and got to lvl 10, then today i logon and all my stuffs gone. I was under the impression the official servers wouldnt be like community servers where 1 person could just do whatever they wanted but apparantly i was wrong. Several people on Official NA Server 0046 were griping about the same thing that someone just wiped all their stuff. So best bet... play on your own server and forget about playing with anyone except for people you directly know.

The devs announced they are looking into the cheater issue and will implement a third party anticheat. Guess wait for them to do that before investing your time into public servers.
