Creature Collecting, Survival, etc.
While I do see similarities to other games, Palworld just feels unique - there aren't any games I can think of that really work this well, especially in Early Access. Only encountered a few bugs, but nothing game breaking.
I like how I can queue a ton of stuff to build and then go off exploring more instead of spending half my game time standing at a crafting bench
This game is CLEARLY inspired by pokemon to a HUGE degree, but it also is inspired by Ark and other survival games.
It has the whole monster collecting thing, but it also has
Slavery, sweat shops, guns, selling human organs on the black market (kinda),
It takes an idea like "pokemon" and turns it the opposite direction that you would expect which is going to result in people just wanting to play it "to see what it is like."
On top of that, those that have played it seem to think it has a good chunk of content for initial early release.
It also has a ton of free advertising because of what this game represents...
But that's had many of us wondering for years, what if we had an open world survival game, but literally containing Pokemon rather than dinosaurs. Enter Palworld, giving us the answer to that question, and boy is that answer fun.
Also, you can catch all the Pals without having to buy extra versions, or buying extra DLCs, or hacking in generated mons, or trading with other people. You can just legitimately catch em all for $30. That's really refreshing.
I want to explore the world to find new pals, and I want new pals because they enhance my base building. It's a really good blending of genres.
I played but i still confused from all this success.
Is a stable survival game, specially for an early access, an interesting mix of gameplay features.
All the possibility to become a good complete game.
But is released by indie developers aren't really too much knowed.
No real marketing expect some streamers.
It's impressive the players growed so much and so quickly.
Palworld have reached the highest concurrent player peak of the buy to play games.
For few thousand of players not surpassed even a f2p like Dota 2.
It's an incredible success, isn't strange some people can't understand why is happened.
That being said, as someone who's always liked the idea of Pokemon but could never get into it, the blend of survival and catching adds a bit of spice to the game other than just gathering materials or JUST catching. The open world isn't the most exciting, but there's a satisfaction of catching a Pal that you think looks awesome, or you just really want/need. It's fun watching your big ass Pal duke it out with another big ass Pal rather then the turn based combat of Pokemon where you're just watching a Pokemon swing at nothing, then the other randomly take damage.
and what is even better, it is 3D openworld survival craft monster catching game
thats pretty unique and especially for PC
there is lack of monster catching games on PC
and openworld survival craft genre is pretty popular.
looks like with Palworld devs hit the gap in market.
the only similar game to this is Ark Survival Evolved and Ark Survival Ascended. there isnt any other survival game with taming (catching) and breeding.
it just dont have any competitor, then all ppl who want this type of game have only this option. and for 25 bucks is Palworld awesome deal.
