Weight is a bit annoying.
Weight in this game is absurd, realistic maybe but not fun to be over encumbered in only a single damned vein or big block of stone mined if there is anything that needs tweaking it's weight it's not fun to gather resources or mine but it's fun to fight and collect pals. Yeah I get weight is a survival mechanic thing but I have never seen it balanced this poorly usually in games like this they do lower Yields and keep recipes far more reasonable but this game balances weight and recipe ingredients quite poorly.

Lemme check that again, but my last complaint about the game (the 10 minute wait time if a pal gets knocked out) had the same thing said to it, which was LIES! Lies I say!

I also run at 750, but still run into some issues if I’m going on a resource gathering expedition, where I’m gathering a few veins worth of stuff.
Nothing a direhowl mount dash attacking won’t solve though.

I realized this too and breathed a sigh of relief.

pal can easy craft wood and stone, ore the only road block at 700 i can get enough to craft few things before i need more. a trick that helps a lot is build a base near a ore rock it will respawn think once a day and pal can mine it, i have one ore in my second base.

i saw on my map? not sure if all maps are random but near middle left of map a spot with around 8 ore rocks on a platform of large flat land, when i unlock a third base going build thier for only ore. i mit destroy my first base and build thier sooner if ore a big issue later and i want it a lot fast.

When you find a location with several ore nodes use Tombats early on (and better ones later) for their auto-mining skill and you need no longer worry about weight. You can set up a little base as an 'automated' mining and smelting operation.

They can store 9,999 stone & lumber and it's all accessible at your workbenches and building menu. Iron Ore is still manual labour, at least up to my level of 18, but there's a spot many people use (Desolate Church or something) which has 6 or 7 ore nodes within a few yards of each other. I put my second base there to drop in maybe once or twice a day and mine them all. They respawn every hour, as best I can judge.

I haven't seen another player there yet though, strangely. I deliberately backed my hub against the edge of a cliff, so as not to hog too much room and the nodes are accessible to anyone. I'm not one of those who puts walls around resources, like some lowlives in games.

I'm after Tombats right now, or I was before the server went down, and they can mine Iron Ore for you, so personal carry capacity ceases to be a problem. Just sit back and watch them mine away. 🙂

Wait, the stone and wood in those are accessible from the workbench? :/ No fooling?

Sure. Benches and your character's Build function always access any storage inside the radius of your base.

If you put four Cattiva's in your party your weight limit will go up by 200, they are easy to find around the starting areas. Helps a bit.

1 Ore Vein = 40 ore = 320 weight. 3 veins = 960 weight. 4 points = +200 weight. so dont lie. 7 pts = 1 additional vein.

And when you add your armor and gear, thats ~200 more weight. 3 veins is my max when im rocking 1200 weight capacity. Late game, 120 ore is nothing.

One the big bosses, 500 AR ammo isnt enough for my Green AR but lets go with this.

500 ammo = 100 refined ingot and 200 gunpowder

100 refined ingot = 200 Ore and 200 coal
200 coal = 400 wood.

200 gunpowder = 200 Sulfur and 400 charcoal
400 charcoal = 800 wood.

SO, to make 500 ammo, i need 200 ore, 200 sulfer , 1200 wood.
1600 + 600 + 3600 weight.

So, to make 500 ammo, which is nothing for fighting a final boss, is 5800 weight.

With 1000 weight trips, thats 6 trips of teleporting back and forth. To kill Jetragon i tend to use 1000 ammo. So, for 1 attempt, thats 12 trips. This is also not taking repair into consideration. Normally i would say that the bases would farm most of this up for you, but the AI tends to struggle for whatever reason. Either cut the resource costs down, or reduce the weight.

Yeah, I also hate having to deal with both weight limits and inventory space limits.

I have 1.2k weight whenever I don't have my weight passive pals in my party. I can do up to 3 nodes depending on just how much is there while pals are transporting. Otherwise, if I mine a node, I can hold up to 1 and a half due to all the keys, spheres (which I don't even need anymore), weapons, armor and food (Which I still think should be weightless or at least reduced weight as long as they are in a food pouch, having 5 food pouches is pointless when you can stack a few hundred salads in a single pouch).

As of this comment I have 591 salads in my food pouch. It only takes up 177.3 weight. It's forgettable.

Worst part is being overweight makes you immobile vs just locked to walking speed. It makes breaking down and repositioning things in your base very annoying. Just being locked to a walking speed when in red weight would be much better.

Yeah, I'm with you, its really annoying.

While we're at it, also hate tool durability. It just adds an interruption to the busywork where i have to go fix my tools.
